"This property was very cheap, and room felt mostly clean aside from black mould on bathroom ceiling. The entrance was right next to a huge bin, which was full of rubbish so not nice to walk past when coming/going.

"We absolutely loved our stay at the river lodge. We came here to ski in Turoa but the weather is against us. Daniel’s warm brand new chalet with hot water jacuzzi and nice wine made our day in those raining days. Oh and my son loved Netflix too! Highly recommend, it’s the best accommodation in the area, will not need to look else where if we come ski again in Whakapapa and Turoa."

We did the Mangawhero Forest Walk which took around an hour along well maintained trails through stunning forest, recommended.
