"The staff were life-savers! They are all so friendly. All speak English very well. Check in is different from an American chain so plan ahead to be in hotel restaurant by 20:00, or make easy arrangements. The room was so quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was so traditional. I loved it. I've missed Kalmar and it was good to make a visit back and stay at this lovely place. "

"Family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed in a Premium Room. Would recommend. Lots of space with 2 separate bedrooms (1 for adults, 1 with 2 singles for children) plus open area with Kitchenette / Lounge / Dining. Enough towels for us all - although no tea-towel and limited cutlery. Buffet breakfast was included and had enough options for us all. "Wonderful hotel in a great location just down the street from Kalmar Castle and the train station. Shops and restaurants within a five minute walk. Room was clean, comfortable, cozy, and nicely appointed. Warm breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and hospitable. I can’t emphasize enough how welcoming the staff was. I will definitely be staying at Slottshottelet next time I visit Kalmar. It truly felt like a home away from home."

"The hotel is beautiful in the summer. Our room was comfortable and had direct access to a lovely garden. There seemed to be fun activities going on in the evening, but our room was quiet. The restaurant on site has good food and good service. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It is across the path from a park and the castle. Shopping and dining is a 5 min walk across the street. I was sad that we were only staying for 1 night. "

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spotless and very clean. Both checkin and checkout were effortless. Parking through the night, was free until 9: AM."
