We had a lovely stay at De Akker Guesthouse! If we were back in Oudtshoorn, we would definitely stay again. The breakfast is so good! The guesthouse is right in town so you can walk to dinner. In fact, there was a delicious restaurant, Nostalgie, right around the corner that our host at the guesthouse recommended. She also helped us with recommendations around town. Very helpful!

Wir waren sehr positiv bei Ankunft von der Unterkunft überrascht. Aufgrund des niedrigen Preises hätten wir nicht geglaubt, so eine schöne Unterkunft zu finden. Das Zimmer war stilvoll eingerichtet und das Grundstück war sehr gepflegt. Es gab vor Ort außerdem ausreichend Parkmöglichkeiten. Das Frühstück am morgen war ausreichend, die Auswahl war völlig ok. Die Ausgangslage war super, man konnte Restaurants fußläufig erreichen. Oudtshoorn hat mehr zu bieten, als wir dachten, beim nächsten Mal würden wir mindestens eine Nacht länger bleiben. Eindeutige Weiterempfehlung!

Solid option for Oudtshoorn

We had a very pleasant stay at De Akker. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast options were great as well. Parking is pretty straight forward. You're given a fob fob for the gate, and you just let yourself in and out as you please. The only negatives I can think of is the size of the room, and it's proximity to others. It's not that the walls were necessarily thin, it's just that the rooms all share one very small corridor. So if you even opened your door a crack, you could hear your neighbor pretty plainly. But other than that, it's a great place to stay in Oudtschoorn. It's a 300 m walk to downtown and right in the center.

We had a wonderful stay in Oudshoorn at De Akker. The service was incredible, the breakfasts were superb and we were given excellent advice as to where to see the highlights of the area. I would most definitely recommend staying here!

Fantastic place to stay. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us discount vouchers for local tourist things to do, a map with where everything is and advised on activities. Our room was lovely and breakfast each morning was great. Absolutely chuffed that De Akker even offered a washing service, which we needed after a while on the road. They washed, dried and even packed away our clothes. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay!

One of the best!!!

What a wonderful place!! Feels like home - attention to detail, cannot think of anything to improve!! Quality bedding, personal touch through out the guesthouse is amazing...from the rooms to the breakfast. We stayed in a 3 bedroom (2 adults and my 10 year old son). There was enough space and the location is very good. Will definately stay here again!

Wir (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) haben hier eine Übernachtung genossen, um dann weiter in die Karoo zu fahren. Die Chefin des Hauses stand und mit Rat und Tat für die Planung dieses einen Tages zur Seite. Es gab von Ihr diverse Voucher für günstigere Eintritte und tolle Tipps wie z.B. zwei wundervolle Wasserfälle um Oudtshoorn. Die Unterkunft liegt super um seine Einkäufe aufzufüllen oder um abends essen zu gehen. Für die Nutzung des sehr kleinen Pools hatten wir leider keine Zeit! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We stayed at De Akker Guesthouse when visiting the Cango Caves and Ostrich Farm. The property is conveniently located in Oudtshoorn town centre and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. It is clean and has everything you need. Highly recommended and great value.

In einer kleinen Siedlung gelegen. Sehr schön Eingerichtet und nette Gastgeber. Frühstück kann man am Abend vorher auswählen was man möchte. Super. Hatten das Hotel gebucht weil es nach zur Erdmännchen Safari liegt welche unbedingt gemacht werden sollte. Würde ich beides sofort wieder so buchen.

Great cost x benefit

Very good stay with my family (4 people in total) although we spent only one day there. Linda was very helpful and attentive with us all the time. Location really close to downtown and safe. Room was clean and tidy, all worked perfectly. Nice breakfast. Would surely return.

ok, mehr nicht

Leider fehlten bei uns noch die Stoffvorhänge, weshalb es wegen den Aussenbeleuchtung die ganze Nacht hell im Zimmer war. Anscheinend wird dies noch verbessert. Der TV funktionierte nicht und es war sehr kühl im Zimmer. Das Personal war nett und gab gute Tipps. Das Frühstück war lecker und die Lage ist gut. Wohl der kleinste Pool, den ich je gesehen habe.

A quiet gem

A fabulous b&b with a super friendly host located within easy walking distance to the Main Street and many good restaurants. Surprisingly very quiet considering how close to the center of town it is. Very tastefully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable. Great breakfast .
