Read the other reviews and was about worried but our unit was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would stay again, no issues. Just needs a bit of a spruce up.

Wonderful Bed, but everything else wasn't as good

Amazingly comfy, big bed in a huge, corner room, with a new carpet too. However, the kitchen was in poor shape...big hole in the flooring and the window blind was filthy. No towel rail in the bathroom, window dirty there too. Good location and price.

On initial view, the room was tidy, the shower flooded and has little to no pressure. And heaps of white tails (spiders) and baby cockroaches started appearing the whole place needs an upgrade after what i see now is clearly a social housing motel half the repairs done are 2nd rate wouldnt stay again.

Basically, we have booked this motel, around January this year to ensure we have a place to stay on this busy weekend (Oct21-23) We arrived at the motel around 6pm, the manager said that they cannot accommodate us because there is flooding or some pipe that burst. They said that they have informed expedia two weeks ago but expedia never informed us about this.

What a hole!!!!! Just walked in the door and its disgusting! The base of the bed is ripped and torn, the shower does not work only the bath, paint splattered on the bathroom door, ants crawling on the floor, rubbish in the wardrobe, the duvet on the bed is as thin as the sheets there was literally no duvet cover, only a sheet over a dirty duvet inner!!!!!!!!!! Only 1 knife spoon, fork in the drawers, but 2 teaspoons. The doors dont close properly if at all 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁 Last night we stayed at The Caves Motel in Waitomo for way cheaper and it was MUCH nicer! If we hadnt have already paid we would have walked straight back out the door!

Was not worth the price, not clean, eftpos not working, had receptionist wait to watch us transfer payment to the motels account, would have transferred in a couple of hours, so did not need to be treated like we weren’t going to pay. Had to ask for blankets and pillows for our 5th person, we paid for 5 people. No light bulb over kitchen area. Whoever sets rooms up, only catered for 4 people, eg. plates, bowls, cups, etc..leaves gathered up around front door, used my shoes to clear away. New carpet, but need a big overhaul. Will not recommend to anyone.Sorry.

Disgusting both hotels.com and the motel.

Disgusting. Misleading faulty snd broken things , mould on pillow case, black stains in spa which also didnt work which they admitted after and another guest said their room was just as bad. They took no responsibility and hotels.com couldnt even reach them but refused to give refund. So off to duspute tribunal as commerce commission have taken my complaint for misleading and unsatisfactory not fit for purpose. This place gets your money while breaching the consumer guarantees act. Hotels.com also have breached nz law by not refunding me as the contract i have is with them , im also going to media as i have a witness and video of how bad this place is. I want my refund or this will end up with legal and media involved . As a gold member i was disgracefully not looked after

We were not advised that there would be no servicing when we checked in. Only found out the next day when we sought clean towels. Office was closed for the day and it was some concerted doorbell ringing before we got an answer. Clean towels were eventually found for us. Had argumentative neighbours using bad language.
