"Stayed at Hotel Retama Machupicchu during my visit to Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly and super helpful, and the location made it convenient for getting around Aguas Calientes and heading to Machu Picchu early in the morning. The room was clean overall, and I appreciated having a quiet place to rest after a long travel day.
There were a few downsides. The hotel is also up a hill and does not have an elevator, which could be difficult with luggage.
Breakfast was simple but enough to get started for the day. They made me an omelet to order that was delicious.
Overall, it’s a decent option if you want an affordable stay close to Machu Picchu and are mainly looking for a place to sleep and recharge before the trip."
"Amazing stay. Staff helped me carry luggage from train station all the way up to hotel. Gave me some information on machu pichu ticket line up. Balcony has view on line. Early breakfast helped with line up and machu pichu logistics.
Location is close to line up. Very easy. A little noisy at night because of sport events. I slept with AirPods Pro, no issue. Nice hot shower after long days. Recommend ! "
"Great breakfast, comfy bed, and a super friendly staff! We really appreciated that our bags were delivered to the train station for us after hiking all day. Highly recommend this hotel."
"I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, the room was fresh and comfy with a really nice view to the river.
The staff is extremely friendly and really elevated the experience.

"The room was available at noon. Our sheets were a little damp when we first checked in but it was tolerable since we were only there for sleep. The staff was very supportive and provided excellent customer service."
"Hotel location is ideal. Restaurants all around and the bus ticket office for MP is down the street. No AC, the room was stuffy and warm opening the windows helping but then you have mosquitoes to worry about. We stayed 2 nights. First night I woke up with bites on my thigh. No hot water in the sink but the shower did have hot water. First day breakfast was buffet style and they cook your eggs to order. Second day, no buffet but still served everything they had the day before - personalized portions at your table. The food was not that good. They served juice warm. The coffee was very strong both days. No ice available. We considered staying an extra night for convenience but they wanted to charge 3x what we paid for 2 nights. The hotel was clean. No elevator and it's a big deal when they give you a room on the 3rd or 4th floor. The outside festivities of the season went on until 1:30am, so outside noise is a problem.
I would not stay here again."
