"First of all, the staff is absolutely amazing. Courteous, friendly, professional. My room was a bit of a mixed experience. It was spacious and well appointed, but the carpet was wrinkled in a way that it looked like it hadn’t been laid properly. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated between freezing and scalding. The bed was a bit soft, but that’s more of a personal preference issue. "

The breakfast spread is wonderful and you're dining in a spectacular room with huge windows looking out over the river and across at castle-topped hills. It's definitely worth springing for a room with a balcony on the river if you can swing it -- gorgeous sunrises, glittering lights at night, boats and swans passing by....

I opened the window slightly and when I returned from my meeting, I found it locked with no key to open it. Except for breakfast, they were unable to provide sandwiches or any substantial snacks - only chocolates and sweets. The advertising of this hotel on Expedia is highly overrated. This is not a four-star hotel. "
