Serenity and relaxing

The reception checkin went very smoothly, the staff are friendly and helpful. The resort is just ideal for me to rest before continuing on my travel. As you can see my bookings I’ve been here in Sri Lanka since May. I would like yo stay a few more days at reception they told me to notify you about extending my stay 27Jun single, a friend will join me for 1 day 28th Jun is double occupancy with breakfast, 29-30 Jun single occupancy with breakfast. Please let me know if the original rates would apply and the total amount. Thank you very much, appreciate the help ! Yvonne Tung

We loved our stay here, it was a luxurious four days. The rooms with a sea view are the best. The only thing that needs improving is areas around the pool or beach with shade. There were umbrellas at the beach, but most were broken.

This place is for those who want to have a relaxing, wind down kind of holiday. There is water sports as entertainment at an extra cost. The Resident Manager and all the staff are friendly and helpful. I need to make a special mention about staff member Samanthe in the dining room Taprobane, who was very attentive and helpful not only to us but the rest of the holiday makers. We had a seaview room and loved it. Very spaceous and walk onto the beach. Calm waters and weather perfect every day for the 8 days we stayed there.

Good value. Spacious room. But It’s a bit odd that tables for dinner and breakfast are already assigned by the room. They put us on the table right next to garage box and seat change was refused regardless restaurant was very empty. Dinner buffet is limited and the quality is mediocre at the best. Some waiters at the restaurant are not very attractive.

Very friendly, helpful, quick responsive staff ready to help all the time. Welcoming front staff are awesome specially Ranchan very knowledgeable and guided us where & when to visit near by attractions. Delicious food all the time and variety at the breakfast buffet makes it better. Well organized 2023 Christmas Eve gatherings were memorable. Thanks for making our vacation one of a kind experience.

About food and stay.

The place is nice. Better to relax. I booked by hotels. Com. There is no option for full board. Only bread and breakfast. And also we can't book triple room from hotels. Com We expected buffet. But we got only set menu because of less people. Dinner set menu is not that good. Evening I ordered some chicken sandwiches. Pricess are way high. I paid 1900 rupees for one sandwich. Local people not able to afford that much money. It's OK for forigners. Don't buy any snacks without checking their menu with prices. For my order they don't bring menu and just tell me what they have at the end they surprise me from snack bill.

Très bel hôtel, chambre spacieuse, très bien décorée, salle de bain immense, la piscine de l'hôtel est très sympa avec une partie jaccuzi, la nourriture du restaurant est excellente. Par contre le manager est très antipathique, dès mon arrivée j'ai été accusée d'avoir mal rempli ma réservation et il m'a été facturé 20 dollards de plus par nuit.. litige en cours...ça a été très désagréable, et c'est d'autant plus regrétable que les salariés de l'hôtel sont charmants

Rigtig fint hotel til prisen.

Venligt og opmærksomt personale! Stranden var dejlig, og værelserne rigtig fine. Poolen var også super. Det eneste, som ikke var så godt, var maden, som var meget ensformig. Morgenmaden var dog helt i orden.

Dieses Hotel kann ich uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Ich war 2 Wochen dort. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Ein Highlight war das Kochen mit der Küchencrew. Das Essen war sehr gut, vor allem die Buffets am Wochenende. Man ging auf meine Wünsche ein. Die Anlage, der Swimmingpool und der Strand sind sehr sauber. Ich habe nur Liebe Leute kennengelernt. Bestimmt werde ich wiederkommen.

Good value hotel in nice beachfront location. Very clean with a nice pool. We had the buffet 1 night and it was fine but ate out the other 2 nights. Did a day tour of Batticaloa which is about 20km away which was fun.

La struttura si presenta bene fin dall'accoglienza, ottime le spiegazioni del personale che ci ha fornito tutte le informazioni necessarie relative alla struttura. La nostra camera era frontemare a 10 m dalla spiaggia privata dell'hotel. La struttura è dotata anche di una bella piscina che però non abbiamo sfruttato. Sia piscina che spiaggia sono dotate di un bar. Camera e bagno molto ampi , ottima la pulizia (gli addetti passano 2 volta al giorno). ristorante valido con opzione buffet o alla carta. E' possibile prenotare (cosa che abbiamo fatto) anche cena privata sulla spiaggia o su una "zattera" in messo al canale che divide in 2 la struttura. Ottimo anche il Pub interno. La cosa migliore rimane però la gentilezza e la professionalità dello staff. Unica cosa da segnalare (per me non è un difetto) è la mancanza di wifi all'interno delle camere. Sicuramente consigliato.

Lovely stay at Amethyst Resort

We had a great trip and the hotel was fantastic. However, the trips that you could do from the hotel were all very overpriced and weren’t particularly well organised, we booked to go snorkelling one day and waited for half an hour, only to go to reception where they told us it hadn’t been booked. They were very apologetic about this though and it didn’t impact our enjoyment of our trip too much.

Rent och fint hotell med vänlig personal. Läget är fantastiskt på en inte alltför befolkad långgrund sandstrand. Men det ligger lite isolerat, det enda som finns i närheten är andra lyxhotell. Det gör att det inte finns så mycket att se och göra i närheten. Maten var tyvärr usel! Åtminstone den som serverades a la carte. Matsalen förde tankarna till öststatsinstitution. Det fanns ingen mysfaktor där överhuvudtaget. Det drar ner helhetsintrycket ganska mycket. Men personalen var hjälpsam och trevlig.

Relaxing stay until...

Nice relaxing stay in this resort dominated by hotels with very little else in the local area but for the beautiful sandy beach. Hotel was great value, especially compared to the other options in the area. Large pool, clean rooms and friendly staff. Perhaps neglects it's beachfront position a little, and more could be made of the beach bar and pool area to pull other customers in and give some life to the hotel. We ended up eating in other hotels as a result of the lack of atmosphere. Had no problems with the hotel until a small amount (£30) went missing from our hotel room. The management did what they could, but without cctv there was little responsibility taken and we certainly did see our money returned. Left a bit of a sour note after an otherwise uneventful few days
