I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. It is also used for state occasions by the President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials. Thanks to Wikipedia for help ;).

Originally on our visit to Lisbon, we hadn't even planned to visit Sintra, but we're so glad we did! The whole area was magical, and Pena Palace was the highlight.

The palace is a short walk up a fairly steep hill, but it's absolutely worth it. If you're going to visit Lisbon, I'd recommend 2 days for Sintra alone, it's fantastic! #LifeatExpedia
