"Had a lovely stay in this very old characterful building. Yes it was noisy until closing time, but its a pub, stay up and have a drink. Welcome was friendly and no fuss.
Would have loved a couple of herbal tea bags in the tea bag area but thats the only constructive feedback."

"Friendly staff, on-site parking. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.
Narrow staircase, no lift do big or heavy suitcases could be a challenge.
Breakfast was good!"

"The room was nice air conditioning was great as a very hot weekend, lots of choice at breakfast staff were all friendly.
The only area that was needing attention was the garden area outside of the bar overgrown and unkept patio area was littered with rubbish and cigarette butts.
Parking charges were additional extra $20 for 2 nights, I guess it stops outside people parking but should be included for guests as you register your car at check in."
"Wr use the hotel often when visiting our granddaughter, so don't use any of the facilities.
The staff have always been charming and extremely helpful if there has been a problem."
"Very big hotel with polite staff and a lovely terrace to sit out on a warm evening. The room was a good size although bathroom was quite small, but bed and pilllows were very comfy. Shame about the club lounge though. It was very hot in there and choice of drinks was limited. The food was very disappointing, hardly any food there and when more was brought everyone descended on it like a swarm of locusts. It did not seem to have much choice either. The same food both evenings and none of it to my taste! Most people in there were complaining and saying it was not worth paying the extra for! Hope the management and chefs take note. ! Would hope it does improve otherwise guests will not want to go in there. Breakfast was good on both mornings but I found the bar very expensive."
"A 2 star hotel at the best. Disappointing as we had stopped here previously. The day did not start well, when we were kept waiting at reception, then informed parking was an extra charge."
"Checked in, saw room was on a floor with lots of kids running about the hallway, also right at the elevator, and an adjoining door to noisy neighbours.
Wasn’t allowed to change rooms without £100 change fee.
Next morning, iron wasn’t working.
Breakfast had 2 girls rushed off their feet, told that all food that was available was out
I asked about croissants and pastries, told they had run out (this was at 0855)
Over all terrible stay, would have been better and cheaper at the premier inn 2 mins away."
"I need to pay more attention to what I am booking but this place didnt really feel like a hotel but a conference centre with rooms. But on saying that there were positives which I will start with.
Firstly, the staff were brilliant. They couldn't be more helpful and friendly even when I was grumpy.
Secondly, breakfast was pretty good.
The rooms, as the weekend was a hot one, were cool even without air con. And the bed comfy.
Now to the bad points. I am a big guy and the room i was given I could not fit in the shower. The gap in the doors just didnt allow it. To be fair to the hotel staff they swapped out room where the shower cubicle had a proper door and no problems. What I dont get is apparently this is a common complaint with the room we were given. So change the shower cubicle. I would like to point out it wasnt the size of the cubicle just the doors didnt open wide.
And lastly its a pet peeve that you have to buzz in and out of the hotel. I just dont see the point and it just makes me fill like I am not trusted. Minor thing as it seems to be creeping into hotels but I hate it.
Got to admit the staff saved this review as I was close to blowing my top over the shower."
"Beautifully clean, large room, however, we stayed during the bank holiday heatwave and the air con wasn't working. A portable air con unit had been placed in the room but wasn’t enough for such a large space. Unable to open windows, so had a sleepless night due to the unbearable heat.
Huge room, great shower and very comfortable bed.
We also stayed for breakfast which was amazing!
Beautiful hotel just a shame that we chose a boiling hot weekend to stay."
"What a wonderful stay, we were upgraded to a deluxe room for my husbands 40th without us even asking so that was a lush surprise and very welcome. The staff everywhere were all really attentive and informative. We only had breakfast here but it was absolutely delicious, I would 100% recommend and visit again."
