"We found Cote Ocean online after spending a night at the nearby Ibis Hotel. It was perfect, our own little apartment in a laid back beach community a short drive South of La Rochelle. Our hosts there were very nice, easy to deal with and helpful with suggestions about the nearby area. We hope to return the next time we visit France."

"The hotel is in a superb position at the centre of Chatelaillon-Plage. Our Superieure room on the 2nd floor faced the sea and was quiet and comfortable. There is a large public car park about 300m away, or parking in adjacent streets. Parking is free outside July and August. Breakfast was good, with a range of bread, baked goods, savouries, etc., although the fresh fruit selection was uninspired. The carpet in our room was quite marked, but otherwise all was in good condition."

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town it is in, so it is a bit of a walk to the nearest shops etc. If travelling by bus to the island also a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop. The staff at the hotel were helpful but unsure if they knew much about the locality as they seemed to provide the wrong information when asked if there was somewhere nearby to eat (we...

"Perfect location, extremely clean room, quite small but more than adequate, brilliant air conditioning. Near sports bar/casino with magnificent restaurant not too expensive. Nice walk through the park into town, also close to a small beach that had people swimming in the sea, didn’t use it myself as only there for one night."
