"Only stayed one night as we were getting the hydrofoil to the Aeolian Islands the next morning.
If we had known how good this place was beforehand we would have booked in for at least an extra night!

"Perfect location visiting Aeolian Islands just a walking distance to the port. Besides from that the hotel got major renovation! The current pics here needs updating as it a modern now! The restaurant is perfect when eating breakfast. Also it is next to a cafe and othe food establishments. Im glad i booked here. 5 star across the board!"
"We did a one night stop driving in and parking is at a premium on the street. Very high quality as new condition place with some English but not much.
Be carefully when booking the rooms they have 4 and it looked like some are shared bathroom ,the one we had appeared private but could be accessed from the shared breakfast area . Happy to stay again as long as we are fit enough to climb stairs off the street to the rooms."

"Nice clean hotel. Our room didn’t have a balcony that we thought we were going to have (which is ok) but we didn’t even have a window, except a skylight. Felt a bit claustrophobic. Room is small so if you need lots of room, keep that in mind. "

"Wonderful staff and breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean. If I ever come back to Sicily, I would stay here. It is a bit out of the way if you're coming during off-peak season since the public transportation is scarce. I would rent a car next time."
"This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. Front desk was exceptional! Ivana made everything easy and provided detailed information about what to see and do. This is a beautiful property, and we had a beautiful room!! However, the staff is the best part about this property. They are kind and helpful. All the staff is great. The breakfast was very good. "A great place to escape from the hustle bustle lifestyle. Tranquil peaceful setting is our first impression, followed by the friendliness of the staff. Room we had was one of the worst with no view and right next to a construction site. But this did not stop us from enjoying the well kept grounds and the infinity pool overlooking the Aeolian islands.
Breakfast is adequate with plenty of savory and sweet choices. But dinner menu was limited with very few local fares. Gym is dark and outdated. Almost like an afterthought.
There are signs of construction throughout the property and hopefully that means some pleasant surprises in the near future. "

"This is our third time at Mari del Sud in the past six years, and unfortunately, we’ve noticed it’s slowly declining. It’s a pity, because the resort has such great potential, so close to the sea and the beautiful Sabbie Nere beach and head a beautiful swimming pool.
One major downside is the lack of a transfer service from the harbor to the hotel. We had the service during previous stays, and most hotels and resorts on the island of Vulcano still offer it. Although the receptionist said the hotel is walkable, I wouldn’t recommend it if you're traveling with elderly people, as I was. We ended up having to call a taxi for both directions, which cost €15 each way.
Breakfast is good and the staff do their best, but the number of waiters is insufficient for the volume of guests. The swimming pool opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., so if you're an early riser or looking to unwind after an excursion, it’s disappointing to find the pool closed.
Housekeeping cleans the rooms daily, which is appreciated, though again the limited number of staff means your room might be serviced late in the day, often when you're back for a siesta. I really hope Mari del Sud will go back being the resort everybody used to love."
