Overall great stay - quit place, right on the beach. Transportation is decent - every 5 min bus to Port Louis - 30 min. Not a lot of places to eat nearby, however can order dinner(breakfast included - good quality).

Great Place to Stay

We had a wonderful day at the Villa Anakao. The location is right on the water and you get great views of ships passing the island. The pool is lovely and the service is excellent. We had an excellent breakfast and dinner there. Clean and comfortable, I recommend it highly.

Lovely grounds around the pool and a comfortable room. Lights left on over night meant an eye mask was needed to sleep well as curtains did not block out light. Staff friendly Food OK but a bit disorganised. Perhaps an English to French mis translation? Good location if you have a car No access to beach from hotel. Good pizza restaurant 15 min walk away

This is a lovely place. There is no beach nor access to one. The pool is nice, the food is wonderful. It is very invting and feels secluded. A great place to just stay. They will help set up any activities you could want

Staff are fantastic - generous, kind, polite and helpful. Food is great. Property is small, which adds to the personal feel. It’s a little isolated, so you’ll need to be prepared to use buses, taxis, car rental to visit places, but the staff will help you find your way.

Very nice, true Mauritius experience. Lovely suite overlooking the pool and ocean. Meals prepared onsite. Breakfast included. For dinners, the menu is posted and you sign up for your choice of appetizer, main and dessert. Lovely quiet place with friendly helpful staff. Lush gardens, plenty of shaded seating, and colorful birds. I'd definitely recommend especially if you prefer a friendly authentic stay rather than a glitzy resort.

We had a lovely suite with roof terrace and fantastic sea view . Huge beds, AC great bathroom . Staff were all lovely and you didn’t feel any sort of resentment from anyone which can be the case sometimes. Breakfast was great everyday and their limited dinner option was something that we tried a few times because the chefs really were very good at their jobs . The building is a lovely old hotel but needs a little bit of attention as it is starting to get a little bit scruffy . That being said , it was very comfortable and we definitely were very happy with our stay there and would re-book with them

Perfect for those who value history and character

Villa Anakao is the perfect secret getaway. The hotel is built on a little piece property which is a paradise in an otherwise commercial part of Port Louis. The father/son team managing the place are true gentlemen and made our stay truly perfect. Like staying in an old manor house rather than a slick motel. Ideal for those who value history and character more than a modern, cookie-cutter resort. There is no swimming beach on the property, but the pool and hammocks were all we needed. The little outside restaurant serves simple Mauritian dishes cooked by local chefs using fresh from market ingredients. We had no desire to travel off property for our meals they were so good.

Beautiful view, just as presented in listing ad. The room was spacious and nicely designed, loved the terrace space. If you're driving there be sure to have google maps available, roads off the main motorway are not clearly signed, I arrived in the dark to make it a bit more of a challenge. Once found then no probs.

The staff were very attentive and polite. I was a single person that had booked for 2 and that seemed to cause them some consternation for some unknown reason. No hot water connected to the hand basin. Safe not secured to the joinery, what's the use? Standard key entry also.
