Great View!!

What an amazing place! The owner, Dora, made me feel like part of the family. Her staff accommodated all of my requests. They even made custom breakfast items for other guests who requested them! Not to mention, the VIEW from the Balcony was SPECTACULAR!

Magnífica habitación, con terraza con sillas y mesa y vistas al mar desde donde poder contemplar bellas salidas del sol. Posibilidad de cenar en el restaurante del propio hotel, con buena carta de pescado fresco. Sería deseable el ascensor, que según nos indicaron están en trámites de instalarlo.

Una solo notte.

Esperienza di una notte, tutto sommato si è dormito bene, anche senza accendere il condizionatore. La camera era in bella posizione con vista mare, pulita, bella la terrazza, sono da rivedere le rubinetterie e strutture del bagno con un po di ruggine, la tv che non sintonizzava nessun canale, ma tutto assai inifluente per il soggiorno di una notte. Buona la colazione con ottime torte fatte in casa o pasticceria. Si può ritornare nuovamente.

Vi fikk nok den beste leiligheten oppe i hjørnet i øverste etasje. Dette er et sted som passer som base og hvor det er fordel å ha bil. 5 minutter fra hotellet er det øde strender og krystallklart vann. Betjening er særdeles bra, selv om førsteinntrykket kanskje lurte oss innledningsvis. Gamlingen i resepsjonen er veldig imøtekommende og hjelper til med det som er mulig. Ungdommen er supre og leverer god service. Å svømme over til Capopassero anbefales. Flotte steinformasjoner og masse fossiler nord på øya. Byen har en liten gate som har de restaurantene som er nødvendig. Anbefalere sterkt å reise inn til Siracusa som er en særdeles fin by. Fraråder samtidig å reise til Pozzello som er alt annet enn koselig.

Lovely little town and perfect hotel for our needs

Hotel Jonic was an excellent option for us and we were really pleased with our choice. The hotel is centrally located on the Main Street and parking is directly opposite. It is about a two minute walk to the beach and the nearby restaurants there, or about a thirty second walk to a number of restaurants and bars in the village/town itself. There is also a supermarket right next door. We don’t speak any Italian and the owners no much English but we got by perfectly fine, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the balconies very large compared to most hotels. The breakfast was very good, we had yoghurt, cake and pastries as well as fresh fruit, all ordered via some pointing and hamfisted translation. It is a very sleep little place, but plenty of excellent places to eat and the beach was good for sunning yourself, we were pleased that we chose to stay here and the hotel did not disappoint at all.

Great view of the sea and Isola di Capopassero. Food is excellent, and I was full every night. Good wi-fi and big rooms. Balcony is great. The area of Portopalo is peaceful, and the local church is always packed. Good food options are all down the street, and the excellent local wine varieties are available. Within walking distance of a nice beach, from where you can see old fisheries, and 16th century fortress standing guard on the island.

Un piacevolissimo fine settimana

Convinti dalle buone recensioni sul web , abbiamo scelto questo piccolo hotel per un fine settimana a Portopalo, per godere del suo splendido mare. La realtà ha superato le aspettative: un piccolo hotel, sulla via principale del paesino, ma tranquillissimo : stanze ben insonorizzate ( nonostante la movida del Sabato sera....), con ottimo impianto di aria condizionata, silenziosissimo, piccole, ma munite di tutto l’occorrente. Impeccabile la pulizia, gentile e disponibile il personale. Ma dove si raggiungono vette elevatissime è il versante ristorazione....avendo scelto la formula mezza pensione, abbiamo cenato in hotel entrambe le sere, ed è stata una piacevolissima scoperta: di prim’ordIne la materia prima ( pesce freschissimo, ortaggi saporitissimi), elaborati con semplicità e grande sapienza: il risultato, piatti deliziosi, grandi per qualità e quantità ( le porzioni sono incredibilmente abbondanti). Colazione più che soddisfacente, sopratutto dal punto di vista “ dolce”, con una discreta offerta di torte e brioche. Da apprezzare, l’angolo dedicato al gluten free, non sempre previsto, specie nelle piccole strutture. Eccellente, a mio avviso , il rapporto prezzo/ qualità . Se se ne presenterà l’occasione, torneremo, ma di sicuro lo raccomanderemo ad amici e parenti....

Viaggio in Sicilia

Abbiamo soggiornato in una dependance, ma la camera era molto grande e ben pulita, con loggia e frigorifero a disposizione. L'unico neo di Portopalo è che è un labirinto di sensi unici e si perde un sacco di tempo per ritrovarsi. Ci sono rarissime indicazioni
