I had an absolutely terrifying stay here. First of all, half of the hotel is a construction site with all sorts of materials thrown about. But the real problem is the hotel owner. A friend who was staying g at a separate hotel came over and stayed past midnight. The next day I woke to the owner pounding on my door- it sounded like someone was trying to know the door down. I opened it and he told me I had to pay for another night because I brought a man there. When I tried to ask where does it say no guest he entered my room and got very close to me and shouted “now! You pay now.” That same afternoon he was going round to all the rooms pounding on doors and entering the empty rooms- I have no idea why. He pounded on my door as well but didn’t come in because I was there. I’m actually going round contact customer service about him because as a solo female traveler I am still very shaken up.

Located just a short walk from the main ferry dock and very close to playa Mann. The roof top views of the town and ocean are incredible. We had a balcony with a hammock facing the ocean. It was a pleasure to get to know the owner, Eduardo. He was extremely welcoming and helpful and made a delicious breakfast.

The outside of the hotel has an eclectic feel with the tropical florals and outer wall cut outs. The room is spacious and basic, with outer balconies including hammocks . Relax beach vibes and close enough to walk to the shoreline where the crabs and sea lions roam in abundance. Service was quick and complimentary breakfast was good.

Eduardo at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. He helped us book a tour and gave us recommendations around town. The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean from the top.

Good location, close to restaurants and the breach but in a quiet and safe area.Very friendly environment. Great and complete breakfast. I highly recommend to stay at the Royal Galapagos.

Eduarado was absolutely amazing! As was the rest of the team! Breakfast was delicious, everyone was so kind and welcoming. I unfortunately got sick on our vacation and the team made me tea to help me feel better and would ask my husband how I was doing. They were so caring and lovely!

Fantastic place! Seconds from the water, minutes from the pier, and next to 4 restaurants. Eduardo there gave me a free upgrade on the top floor. The views were amazing! I'll definitely be staying there again

The staff is very friendly, even though I could not understand much in spanish, we were able to use Google translate to communicate. The accommodations are really nice for a great price, and all the rooms have a nice view and are walkable to the main street with food and shops.

O lugar ideal pra se hospedar em San Cristobal

Fui recebida no hotel com muita simpatia. Meu quarto era grande com sacada envidraçada, rede, ar condicionado. Cafe da manha com paes e frutas incluso e proximo ao muele onde pode se ouvir os leoes marinhos. O Eduardo é muito simpatico e ajuda em dicas de excursões. Bem pertinho da Playa Mann e da trilha para o Tijeretas.

The property was near to restaurants and up one end of town. Unfortunately the door to the balcony did not lock, the TV did not work and the wifi kept cutting out. The manager was very helpful and the breakfast was great. Room was clean and comfortable.

The owner is super nice and super friendly. Gave us plenty of tips and advice. 3 minute walk to el malecón which is all but stores and restaurants. Breakfast included fresh cut fruits, fresh juice, fresh coffee, warm bread rolls, scrambled eggs, butter and jam. If we ever go back to the Galapagos, this is where we will stay.

Clean, well-maintained and quiet. Eduardo was accommodating when needed, and friendly. The room has a good sized balcony with a hammock, although I spent little free time in the room as there is much to see and do on the island. I would stay here again. Thank you, Eduardo!

Good stay in San Cristobal

Nice stay, excellent location just a block from the pedestrian path which leads to the harborfront. Hot water and a/c worked well, and my bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included, with eggs, fruit, bread, juice and coffee. The dining area is open-air, so insect repellant was a must for me, as I am a bug magnet (san cristobal the buggiest of the three main islands). There is some construction currently under way to expand the property, the work was during reasonable hours and did not disrupt my sleep in any way. The owners are a very friendly couple who advised me of local sights and offered to help book any tours I'd be interested in. Overall, good value and a place I would return to.

Upon arrival the owner was vocal with us that we got a room rate from Expedia much lower than what he usually charges, making us feel bad. He then gave us a room which had so many problems. The shower gave hot water for only 30 seconds then went cold. We asked the owner about this and we were asked why we needed hot showers anyway? Then during a rain storm a large crack allowed lots of water into the room and flooded the floor. The owner is building new rooms out the back of the property and the loud construction noise didn’t finish until 21:30 one night. I do not understand why the owner is building new rooms when his existing rooms are quickly falling into a state of disrepair! One day we asked about snorkel hire and we were fobbed off to a shop that was almost always closed, so he was not very helpful at all as a host.

The Royal Galapagos inn is very nice, but apart from a great breakfast, it offers very little beyond what other places in town offer for slightly less than half the price. Most disappointing are the showers, where hot water is a trickle at best, and control of water temperature (which keeps changing without you touching the taps) is impossible The rooms are large and clean with no amenities, though the air conditioning works well, if you get a sea view, then the view is obviously great. Beds are not very comfortable. Breakfast is the high point, simple, but ample, with great fruits, horrible coffee, very good, fresh hot buns, and wonderful fruit juice together with scrambled egg and granola. The staff is friendly and helpful

I did not like instant coffee for breakfast. It was served in a pot, alluding to it being real coffee but it was instant. Not a fan. Especially in a country known for coffee.
