I Wish I Could Give 0 Stars – Worst “5-Star” Hotel Experience
Our recent stay at Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta was deeply disappointing — far from the 5-star experience they claim to offer. We were 4 families traveling together, and from the very beginning, the check-in process was a mess. They placed each family in different towers, even though we had clearly requested to stay in the same one. No effort was made to accommodate us together.
Our room had cracked glass panel in our balcony which was extremely unsafe — especially because we were traveling with a 2 years old child. I was terrified he might touch it and fall from the 4th floor. To make things worse, the hot tub in balcony had 3 steps and there is no glass around it
It was so dangerous that we couldn’t even use the balcony during our stay.
Room service was very slow and unreliable — every request took 35 to 40 minutes, even for basic things. Not acceptable at all for a place claiming to be luxury.
At checkout, we asked for a late check out They refused, but said we could use the facilities for a few more hours after checking out. Later, they charged us for those few hours — and when we questioned it, they were rude and refused to let us leave until it was paid. It felt dishonest and borderline coercive.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a relaxing, safe, and luxury vacation — This is not hotel for you It’s nowhere near a 5-star standard. At best, it’s a poorly managed 2-star resort with a luxury price tag.
