"The breakfast was superb, the corridors were a little outdated, the room was very hot and the windows were so misted up (older double glazed units with the condensation on the inside) that we could hardly see out. There was a very loud rumbling noise at about 6am, from a boiler perhaps. The staff were welcoming, especially those in the breakfast area. The Abba tribute act were very good."

The staff at reception were very good but there seemed to be a lack of staff in the dining/bar area which meant that the bar was quite often unmanned for long periods of time. The hotel itself is set in an old building, and it showed with the creakiness of floorboards and thinness of walls, meaning you could hear conversations and movements in hallway and neighbouring rooms. Nice and close to the city centre (15 min walk to centre of high street) and good amount of onsite parking, which is a rare feature in Canterbury."
