Qumran National Park Tours

This is the place where the Dead Sea scrolls where discovered in Israel. A young Shepard throwing a stone at a goat heard it crash against pottery and discovered the scrolls in caves in the mountains.

The visit was rather disappointing: you can’t go to the caves and you are limited to see the ruins of some early Christian sect and a small museum. While learning about the sect was interesting, my imagination surrounding the Dead Sea scrolls had expected something else from Qumran.

If you've never ridden a camel, you need to do it at least once. Of course, these short rides don't begin to compare to the ones at the Giza Plateau in Egypt.

Rooms are attractive and well appointed except for the lack of a coffee pot. Can't recommend this hotel if you want to sleep before 2AM. Sound travels easily from room to room and our adjoining guests were extremely loud late nighters. Also, despite the red card warning guests of a $599 fine for smoking, the smell in our room of marijuana was overwhelming at times. Like most Las Vegas hotels, it's hard to leave the building without walking through the casino that was also smoke filled. On the bright side, it was significantly cheaper than hotels across the street. We'll opt to spend a few more dollars next time and go elsewhere.

Their rooms are very spacious, which is a good thing a little outdated, but it works for the time we stayed there. Unfortunately, there was no ice machine in the tower. We went to every floor. Couldn’t find one when we found one. It was broken.
