“We had a great experience at Saccharum. Property is very clean and well kept, the view from our ocean room was amazing. The staff was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get us a correct power adapter as we had the incorrect one. The breakfast buffet was top tier, we looked forward to our first meal of the day. We enjoyed our drinks at the beach club, and the loungers were clean and comfortable. My wife said her spa appointment in the hotel was a highlight of our trip to Madeira.”

“We were happy to have found this spot with an amazing view of the sea. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was just what we needed and had gf options. Staff was friendly at the front desk. My only suggestion would be that the hot tub actually be hot. It was luke warm at best. The sauna was great but was never on in the morning. “Overall, we had a great stay! The hotel was lovely and offered excellent amenities, including a pool, sauna, steam room, and an excellent breakfast buffet. The location was also great, and we really enjoyed how peaceful and uncrowded the hotel felt during what appeared to be the off-season. At times, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. “The food was very interesting. Some overcooked. There were ants in the dessert. We often resorted to the restaurants along the pier. They also forgot to put my birthday amenity until after we arrived but all in all the hotel was beautiful and had a very scenic view to gaze upon the mountains, oceans and sunsets. “The staffs were amazing, gave us a little gift on our checkout. They were very attentive, kind, and amazing. It was the best hospitality in Madeira (funchal hotels were horrible in comparison). The room was nice and clean, with amazing (at night a little bit scary) view of the ocean and waves. I highly recommend!”

“The Venezuelan receptionist Susete was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This hotel has charm and character throughout, guests made to feel really welcome, pick fruit from the garden, help themselves to drinks (and pay for them on the honesty sheet), and the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival was a lovely touch. We were very disappointed that we were only staying for 2 nights in this very highly recommended hotel. Huge choice for breakfast too - magical!”
