Very nice hotel. Modern with all you needed for a stay. Close to all major roads, walking was safe and staff members helpful. Our room was on the 3rd floor (no elevator) but not an issue for us, may be for some. Hot water took about 5 minutes to get to the shower in the morning, once it was there it was ready to go.

A truly charming house

Initially the name of the place raised some concern. However, entry into the house reveals this is no ordinary hotel. It is exquisitely designed, with spectacular spaces, a marvelous pool and great staff. So, I give high marks for what is truly a charming house.

Great hotel! Staff was very friendly & the buffet breakfast each morning was excellent with many choices. Having designated, private parking for the guests was a very nice benefit. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

It is charming!

Friendly staff, helpful to recommend restaurants in the area and also suggestions for rest of our trip. Lots of seating areas around the property both inside and out. Great had access to a kitchen.

The house was amazing! We had a week here and everything was great, we travelled without a car and the reception staff were very helpful in suggesting a reliable taxi and tips for where to go. We really enjoyed the heated pool after walking the trails! And breakfast was delicious. Everything at Volcanic Charming House was perfect

This house turned into an hotel is amazing! If you are looking for a place to adventure all day and then have a quiet, comfortable, and nice evening with amazing views this is your place. My husband and I dined in every night because we loved the scenery so much. We will definitely stay again.

Fantastic house with an oasis of a garden with pool. Great spacious accommodation and staff who go the extra mile to be helpful with advice and assistance with booking trips, restaurants etc. Great buffet breakfasts and easy parking. Probably the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in!

Such a beautiful space, and the staff were all extremely pleasant, kind and accommodating. We got a great tour of the property upon arrival and a wonderful and detailed explanation of suggested activities on the island, points if interest and personal recommendations. The breakfast had a great selection each morning as well. Felt like home away from home! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Very nice hotel with a very comfortable bedroom. The bathroom was not in proportion to the rest of the hotel, it was very basic (no place to put toiletries, no hangers, horrible white light and an uncomfortable shower cabin) The garden and the breakfast were excellent .

Do Not Like: poor ventilation in the room, no closets, no private lights in the room, turning the light in the bathroom- lights the entire room The hotel charged us above the price paid on Expedia during the reservation and the price we agreed on via messages with owner. we booked the extra night due to early morning arrival, but our flight was late and hotel did not provide us breakfast we asked in advance and paid for .Owner never contacted us there.

Our stay here was almost perfect. The staff was excellent as was the breakfast selection. We did not use the pool as hoped, but it looked beautiful. Great to have a full kitchen available to us to store and prepare food. Wish we had known this ahead of time (as well as close location to grocery store); we would definitely have planned things differently! Our room was small, but we didn't spend much time there, so not a problem. Great price/value for this stay! Good location; close enough for us to walk anywhere in town. The only thing I did not like was the see through bathroom wall, that was a deal breaker for me.

This is a wonderful place to stay! We arrived a little early but they were able to accommodate us. They gave us a tour and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. Duarte helped us book a whale watch and warned us we needed to book the thermal spring baths ahead of time. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked being able to open the windows. We could hear the ocean surf when we didn't hear the neighborhood dogs barking. We were pleasantly surprised to have shared access to a balcony with chairs and a table. Watching the sunset with a bottle of wine we purchased from the hotel was a great way to end the day. They had a decent selection of wines to choose from. The heated outdoor pool was enjoyable and the grounds were well kept. It was super nice to have kitchen access with an assigned shelf in the fridge and a cabinet with plates and glasses to use. It was clean, modern and equipped with whatever utensils you needed to cook or reheat a meal. There were 2 grocery stores within walking distance. It was a short walk to town and the beach. Parking was off street and easy. The location was central for exploring Sao Miguel. We stayed a week and were very satisfied. We highly recommend the Volcanic Charming House!
