My wife had purchased a Navajo rug here a few years ago for a reasonable price. Speaking with the sales staff on my recent trip, a Navajo run can't be purchased by under $1,000. They let me know they price the rugs extremely high in case they need to make an insurance claim. But they actually sell them for 1/3 the listed price. Even with this the lowest priced rug was $1,000 or more. I found a couple with a price tag of $50,000. I would suggest looking at Hubbell Trading Post, Ganado or check out the Crownpoint rug auctions. Once per month (usually the second Friday) at the Crownpoint Elementary School. Crownpoint, NM
