"Very mixed- the staff were wonderful. Very accommodating, friendly, the new restaurant staff was great. The room seemed okay on the surface, but once we were there one night- we debated going home early. The floors were sticky and when I started wiping them down the towel turned so black I had to throw it away. The AC in the room didn’t work and the room itself had a very musky smell. The gym is small but mighty with great equipment and was clean. We were in a last minute pinch to book and the main picture on hotels.com make the property look like it has nearby beach access…. I have no idea what that picture is to, but it certainly is not this property. There is a large price difference. Properties with easy beach access and amenities with a dog were pulling up over $500 with this property being considerably lower. When traveling with a pup, we understand we are limited, so this wasn’t the worst experience. It’s close to downtown Manteo docks and an easy drive or bike ride to the lost colony. It’s on the main road, but we couldn’t hear the traffic noise from our room. It’s a 10 min. Drive to OBX beaches, and there are some nice places around the hotel such as the front porch coffee shop, restaurants, and the downtown Manteo (pronounced Maneo) area."
