Muna was lovely, she sent me a detailed description of how to get in each door and the code for the room, the room was lovely and the bed was comfy, the only issue was the toilet seat was too small for the toilet so it needs replacing and the tap was constantly dripping even when turned off fully. I would stay here again as it was in a fantastic area, walkable to all the sights

A cozinha estava equipada, a funcionária Hyhana é uma excelente profissional e muito atenciosa. O que deixou a desejar foi o acesso. Tivemos problema com a senha, onde tentamos contato com a anfitriã, mas tivemos que esperar algum outro morador entrar para poder ter acesso ao apartamento. Extremamente deselegante e sem segurança. Fora que estava sem água quente, que é primordial para o banho, devido clima.

Very very disappointing. I had no hot water power for the first 24 hours. I couldn’t wash or charge my phone after a long journey. Even when the power returned, I continued to have no hot water for the rest of my stay. I complained numerous times but was just told ‘it can’t be helped’. I had to shower and wash my hair in cold water but when I reported this, nobody even replied to my message. I thought that booking through Expedia gave me some amount of assurance but it is not within their power to grant a refund. The property were determined not to recompense me at all for this inconvenience which says a lot about her customer service skills. I would recommend that you AVOID this property at all costs because they do not care if you encounter a problem (& you will…!).

A real complicated way to get into the property. Although very secure, some of the keys and locks were difficult to maneuver and not labeled so it was trial and error. Advertised as elevator, and it has a VERY small one, but you have stairs leading to elevator, stairs outside elevator on the actual floor and additional stairs to get to the entrance to the room! Very difficult with suitcases! Would have been helpful to have local information on bus schedules or trams in the area. Room was big enough for just one person and to just sleep. Staff could only be accessed through WhatsApp and even then, not very responsive.

Nice room, communication could use improvement

Please know that this is a shared Airbnb like experience. It was not explained in the original details of booking. There are three private rooms with their own private bathrooms but with a shared kitchen. Check in: Frustrating - arrived at location, button to enter would not work (yes it was the correct button). Attempt to contact host for help, no answer. Meanwhile it was raining. Was finally conveniently let in by another tenant leaving the building. Arrived to front door of guest house. Still needed a code to the lockbox for keys to front door, which was not provided prior. Attempted to contact host once again, no answer. It took 34 minutes to receive a response from one of the three numbers provided to me. Sheets: there were only bedsheets on the bed and extra bed sheets provided for use to sleep on the couch. No blankets were provided. AC: there is an AC unit that turns on but does not work well. It's for decoration at this point. City tax: we were aware we had to pay city tax in cash ahead of time. A colleague of the host came to collect in person. We gave cash and collector did not have change. We both agreed for collector to return the change another day. Collector never returned the cash. I personally don't care as it was a small amount for me, but should be noted. Icing on the cake. Room/location: big room with nice bathroom, central location

Excellent stay. Great location

I found Guest House Maria to be well located within easy reach of transportation and close to many points of interest and restaurants. There's a communal kitchen which is helpful if you want to prepare meals or use the refrigerator. I also found the neighborhood to be tranquil with lots of immigrants from Asian and South Asian countries. Something other guests have put down due to their fascist ideology. Yes, there are homeless people, like everywhere else in the city, but they never bothered me. The Vittorio Emmanuele park was nice to stroll through during the day and night. It's a great opportunity to see the locals relaxing and enjoying the park. They even have a nice outdoor café which serves excellent breakfasts. The only negative I have is of the owner of the Guest House. He was very negative towards me when I expressed my displeasure at no one answering my emails. He told me that if I wasn't happy, that I could cancel at anytime free of charge. Except he was incorrect. I had a non-refundable reservation but he was too incompetent to realize this. If I canceled, I wasn't going to get my money back. Who was going to keep it, him or hotels.com? Thanks to Muna, the person who manages the guest house, she reassured me and made me feel better. She knows how to treat clients with respect, unlike the owner.

Very difficult to bring luggage to the room The elevator was so small, so not enough to fit in three luggage. After getting out from the elevator, you need to bring these luggage above 7 to eight steps down and brought them up for another six or seven steps to the guest house.

Beware if you stay here…..

We had to cut our stay as the AC was not working. We were told we would get fans they didn’t arrive. We were told that after a technician looked at it, that it was repaired, it wasn’t. We had one night of terrible sleep where despite being at 17oC did not get below 27oC. In addition to being unbearably hot, there were also noisy neighbours on and off until about 2 am, because the kitchen area is shared with 2 other apartments/rooms, and the doors are not very soundproof. To make matters worse we requested a refund and they cut off communication with us. A family holiday ruined by having to move to another place that was thankfully cooler….

Excellent location. Property in good condition. Easy access to the subway and Roma Temini. There is a nice restaurant just a few steps from the building: “Le Caveau”.

The place was good. Cute little apartment. Loved the structure of the building. Was close to all the places. The only down fall was that it was very hot and humid and A/C did not work. We got through it for 2 nights.
