The staff was very helpful with everything from booking tours, cabs, laundry. They were more attentive than some of the more expensive hotels we stayed at on our trip. We would go back to The Major again.

The hotel is a boutique style, our host Lucas was awesome, he explained everything to us and did that everything was perfect. The area is stunning, the streets beautiful, everything was near to us so it was very convenient to stay there. Definitely a very good alternative to stay in Venezia.

For those who are willing to embrace the walk of Rome this is an ideal local in the Monti neighborhood. Virtually all major attractions were a 40 min walk at the furthest, but the key is the 7 min jaunt to Termni station which elements any transport issues and often for 1.50€. Strong restaurants within the general area, 5-15 mins walk and you will find what you want. Perhaps the best feature is the daily viewing of the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore, which is a true treat every night at 9pm mass.

The Major is in a spectacular part of Rome, right next to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore (where the hotel gets its name 'major'). This boutique hotel is clean, chic, and well appointed. I was THRILLED however by something quite unexpected: the roof top bar/restaurant with breathtaking views of the basilica! Amazing. I can't wait to go back.

’ve: Friendly, helpful welcome from staff. Clean, comfortable hotel. Large room, with plenty of space. Good central location for train station and city centre attractions. Masa restaurant on the top floor serving high quality fusion food. -‘ve: Immediate area around hotel a bit run down. Hotel charged for in-room coffee capsules after first two. No view from room.
