Saint Martin, Caribbean hotel rooms at the Independent

"My only complaint with my room was it kind of had a mildew smell to it and it was not the accommodation we needed. I requested a kind with a sleep sofa and that’s not what we got but overall my stay was nice and I would stay here again"

"Everyone was friendly including the staff at the attached pool/bar. Hotel was clean and was able to get into our room a little earlier than check in. The beds are a little uncomfortable. A lot of shops on this street on both sides of the hotel and of course the beach right out back! "

"Property itself is good. Pool is good. There are many food options within a 2 min walk that range from cheap to higher end. Kitchen is always nice so you can make your own breakfast, etc. Decent grocery store right across the street. The flight landings and takeoffs are right beside the hotel and they are built in entertainment. This is NOT a problem for sleeping as the airport is basically shut down by early evening. I would rate higher, but there is no beach for the property. You have to go to...
