“The La Fonda is a beautiful old hotel. Paying for parking in the rear was so worth it. We came and left frequently, going to historical sites and Taos Pueblo. We were able to sample some local cuisine in the hotel restaurant and the owner was very informative, telling us about the history of his people and the foods they prepare(d). “I had a pretty good experience ”

“Surrounding Great Sand Dunes was very convenient. The hummingbird feeders near our room, was one of the highlights as there were many birds so close to us, as we looked over the sand dune backdrop. Hostess at front desk filled the feeders up as soon as we told her they are running out of feeder food. The restaurant just down the hill was excellent, with great staff and great food. We had a great time staying at the Great Sand Dune Lodge.”

“Check in and check out were completely remote and extremely easy and convenient. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Wifi was fast, water pressure was good, parking easy. They also had a lovely little outdoor area to sit in. I would highly recommend stepping out at night to see the stars - we could see the entire milky way from the parking lot. The only little thing was that the A/C remote was a little hard to use. ”
