“The most amazing view. We spent a lot of time just at the hotel because of the gorgeous view. You can also use the kayaks free of charge. Very close to the boat deck and very kind and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast was also included with our reservation. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious”

“The lake was so beautiful. The staff was incredibly nice and the surrounding area is serene. It is off the main road, so you lose the noise of the busy street but keep the proximity. The neighbors are also so sweet. Kayaks are available on the property and they offered breakfast. The gentleman at the property helped carry our bags when we came in and helped us get to where we needed for our shuttle when we were leaving. 10/10 recommend!!!!”

“Nada de mantenimiento en la habitación estuvimos 3 días y nunca nos limpiaron el cuarto ni votaron las basuras ni nos dieron papel ni jabones , la cama de la habitación súper incómoda, no tiene ni aire acondicionado ni abanico. La vista es buena y los desayunos buenos también ”

“A stunning property with amazing views. It is nestled into the side of the mountain and designed to make the most of the lake views. There is lots of attention to detail. My room was beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great, which also had a lake view! It was nice to have the Guatemalan breakfast included in my rate. There isn’t anywhere else that’s walkable. All the staff were lovely and made every effort to ensure I had the best stay. I used the hotel’s recommended...

“The complex was extremely well kept and the room was clean and comfortable. The complex was quite difficult to find even with the provided instructions, we only found it because a local showed us the route. The area has a lot of construction so it is quite loud during the day. The balcony was not used as we had hoped because the drilling was constant all day. Also it would be nice if the balcony had seating. The staff are very quick to respond which was helpful because the toilet did not work...

“The fact the facilities are pet friendly and free make this facility super unique.”

“I had a good stay overall, but there was one serious issue. Around 2 a.m., someone opened my door and tried to enter my room. I reported this to the receptionist, but was told there are no CCTV cameras in the common areas. For the safety of guests, I strongly recommend installing security cameras.”

“The lovely Hotel Villa Santa Catarina is Guatemalan-owned. Beautiful two pools, great view of the lake, and a short tuk-tuk ride to Panajachel. The restaurant on site is fantastic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Room was spacious - no A/C, but not a problem with the cool lake breeze at night.”
