Modern rooms, near to town and next to Clote ski lift, wouldn’t recommend with small children as we were on ground floor above the bar very noisy until 12pm. Nice breakfast and staff kindly made us fresh coffees as machine coffee wasn’t nice

A Perfect Honeymoon Stay

We stayed at Hotel Alvanche in Sauze D’Oulx for our honeymoon, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, with a lovely balcony offering stunning views. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, with a great variety of food to suit all tastes. It set us up perfectly for a day of skiing. The hotel’s heated boot room was an excellent feature, ensuring our skis and boots were dry and ready to go every morning. The location is unbeatable, with close proximity to the Clotes chairlift, making it incredibly convenient for getting onto the slopes quickly. We had an unforgettable week skiing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Alvanche. It was the perfect base for our honeymoon, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Sauze D’Oulx.

Disappointing Stay at Avalanche Hotel, Sauze

The positives: • The bar and restaurant area is beautifully decorated, and the bar staff are very friendly. • The location is fantastic—right next to the lifts and close to restaurants and nightlife. However, this can also be a downside for some, as it’s very loud at night until around 1 AM. • The hotel is basic but comfortable. Unfortunately, the rooms are uncomfortably hot, requiring windows to be left open, which lets in noise from nearby bars. The negatives: • Extremely unhelpful and dismissive reception staff and management. • Rooms are overly hot, with no fans available to borrow. • Towels and bedding were not changed during a 4-day stay. • No secure luggage storage. Guests arriving before 3 PM or departing late must leave luggage unattended in the lobby, which is both unsafe and inconvenient. • Ski lockers are inaccessible until check-in, despite being unused between guest turnovers. Major issue: During our stay, an expensive bottle of aftershave (€370) was broken by the cleaning staff. Although management acknowledged the incident, they refused to compensate directly. Instead, they required me to pay €100 for taxis to file a police report in another town so they could claim on their insurance. This would have cost me both money and valuable skiing time on our last day. So had no choice but to incur the cost to replaced the damage myself!

Splendida struttura immersa nel verde di salice d'ulzio, posto tranquillo ,camere a misura d'uomo ben arredate in stile moderno/ ma mantenendo la continuità con il passato , vista della stanza spettacolare, comodo, pezzato per la musica del sabato sera che non era prevista ne comunicata e che ha continuato fino alle 2 di notte.
