“A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely. We checked in at the bar, which was busy. “Everything was perfect. Lovely room which was immaculately clean and well presented. Stephen and Neil were perfect hosts and clearly work really hard to ensure their guests have a lovely stay. Great location for everything in the area. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!”

“Staying here was amazing. The room was just what I needed for my one night stay in Durham. The bus stop wasn’t far away and was very easy to get into the city center. I arrived a little bit early and they didn’t even flinch to get me into my room. Highly recommend!”

“No tea or coffee etc in rooms or any toiletries”

“Such a lovely overnight stay, we were in the area to attend an evening wedding reception. Very clean, great location & superb breakfast & Michael was so welcoming & helpful with the area & directions. Would recommend.”

“Carl and Christine were so welcoming. The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. BUT we ran out of toilet roll. There was fruit, cereal and toast for breakfast and tea or coffee ad lib. Parking in the grounds. We were only here for 1 night for University Open Day but I would definitely stay here again. Unpretentious and very good value. I have a hip problem and Carl let me sit in the lounge until my wife and son were ready.”

“We received a friendly welcome at the hotel and had the keys, layout and rules explained. Room was airy and a good size. Bed was comfy. As room was on road was a bit noisy with windows open. Very pleased and will recommend and use again in the future.”
