a renovated motel by the bay. I had an oceanview room on the second floor with a view of the bay. Its well worth the extra bit of money. Cleaning staff was very helpful, able to come up with an iron and ironing board when I requested. Careful when using the overflow parking lot. The ground was very rippled, so careful driving or walking on it.

The Spot is located on idyllic Porpoise Bay and is peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, the check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am which are not convenient. Ideally, noon and 3pm are more reasonable and in line with other establishments. Additionally, 3 minor things are the reason for a 3-star review. 1. A window washer was outside our room at 4:15-4:30 after we checked in. The staff didn’t seem to think it was a problem even though their highest vacancy time is between 11-4. Any window washing should have been completed in that time frame. 2. There was a BBQ area available. The BBQ itself was clean, but the sink station was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in several days. Additionally, this area was more of a smoker’s hangout than a nice place to relax and cook a meal. 3. There were 2 Adirondack chairs right by the Bay. They looked nice from our room so we went down to spend some time in them. Unfortunately, their paint was cracked and peeling off so we didn’t sit in them. It wouldn’t take much to repaint or replace them. These items are not major, however, when you book a room and spend $200+ a night, it’s the little things you notice that matter the most. It appears staff lack clear understanding of customer service and attention to detail. There was also no staff member at check-out to discuss these issues with. Despite its’ lovely location and setting, I would not return.

Excellent stay. Cleaning staff was terrific and attentive. I left a tip and they didn’t even take it. All lovely and friendly when I came and left each day. Made it feel like home away from home! Room was so tidy and neat each day

Best location for a west Coast experience … right in the water, seals, lots of birds, super little trail around the wetlands for morning coffee walks … pub next door … and the sweetest, kindest staff!! We found a goose in trouble in the mud and the staff knew who to call for wildlife rescue and kept calling until help came! Great outdoor patio, too!

All the staff we lovely. We were there Thursday - Monday. I only asked once to have the room cleaned. My only complaint was floors weren’t washed or vacuumed and we had to request toilet paper as it was empty. It is in a great location and parking is easy.
