Siebengebirge, Bonn hotel rooms at the Dorint Hotels & Resorts

"It was a good stay, they arranged for a cake and balloon to be in the room when we arrived as it was my husbands birthday which is very kind. The room was clean. The access to filtered water downstairs was really good and the small children’s play area was a plus. The hotel could do with a bit of a renovation but generally in good order. The staff were generally very welcoming and helpful apart from a woman called Luisa. She checked us in and from the get go, she wasn’t very welcoming which is fine but it was when we asked her a couple of questions about getting a taxi from the city centre and about public transport that she truly showed her dislike towards us. She was most unhelpful and we were made to feel a bit stupid to be honest. "

"Dear Hyatt Regency Köln Guest Relations Team, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding an experience I encountered during my recent stay at your property in Cologne, Germany. Despite the restaurants on-site appearing to have available capacity on the evening in question, I was unfortunately unable to secure a dining reservation at either of the two hotel restaurants. As a result, I was compelled to leave the hotel premises and travel into the city centre in order to dine — an inconvenience that I had not anticipated, nor considered necessary given the facilities advertised as part of the guest experience. This situation had a significant impact on the overall enjoyment of my stay. As my evening was spent travelling to and from the city centre for dinner, I was subsequently unable to make use of the hotel's leisure facilities, including the swimming pool and spa areas, which I had very much looked forward to. I trust that this matter will be taken seriously and reviewed accordingly. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further and to understand what measures might be put in place to prevent similar inconveniences for future guests. "Absolutely perfect location for karneval. Close to everything you need to have a good time. Great restaurants and bars nearby, transit is 30 seconds outside the hotel, can't ask for a better spot. And the rooms are HUGE for Europe. Our one issue was the room was extremely dusty and the pillows were basically non existent, but small price to pay for the location. "

"I have stayed at the Dorint multiple times in the past and have always looked forward to returning, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Upon check-in, I was assisted by Corinna Submann, and the interaction was unprofessional and unwelcoming. I felt as though I was being accused of attempting to underpay for my room due to the reservation showing one person. Prior to arrival, I had messaged the hotel indicating that there would be two guests and that I required two beds. The room I was initially assigned was a superior room with only one bed. As I was traveling with a coworker, this was not acceptable. I returned to the front desk and was downgraded to a smaller room with two beds. The interaction at the desk during this exchange was again unfriendly. I had booked and paid for what I understood to be a higher-category room and requested a credit to reflect the downgrade and the fact that the room did not meet the expectations of my reservation. I was told this was not possible and that it was Expedia’s responsibility. After spending several hours communicating with Expedia, they informed me that any refund or adjustment was the hotel’s responsibility. No resolution was offered. In addition to the room issues, several aspects of the hotel were below the standard I expect from a four-star property: - The main entrance door was not functioning. - Lobby furniture had been removed. - Tiles in common areas were cracked and in poor condition.
