The Morgan San Simeon - Cambria by Hearst Castle
6/10 Okay
"The property is a bit dated and could benefit from some updates, but the staff was accommodating. During our stay, the satellite service was down, so TV service was unavailable; however, the hotel acknowledged the inconvenience and offered a discount, which was appreciated. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but the cool coastal weather made this less of an issue. Opening the windows provided enough fresh air to keep the room comfortable during our stay. The complimentary breakfast was simple, with waffles, cereal, mini muffins, and cold hard-boiled eggs that could be warmed in the microwave. While the selection was limited, it provided a basic start to the day. One area that could use some attention is the cleanliness of the exterior grounds. Additional upkeep of the surrounding areas, particularly the back parking lot, would enhance the overall appearance of the property, as this was part of the view from our room window."

El Colibri Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"I had an amazing stay at El Colibri Hotel and Spa this weekend and couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. Check-in was quick and the front desk team were genuinely friendly. The room itself was spotless, cozy, and quiet. Beds were super comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. I loved the little details: fresh coffee in the morning, blackout curtains that actually worked, and USB ports right by the nightstand. The Nest Spa experience itself is a standout. I booked the 90-minute The Nest Signature Massage and my therapist, Linden, was incredible. She checked in about pressure, focused on my problem areas, and I left feeling like someone finally unkinked three years of bad posture. Breakfast was a nice surprise too. The location made it easy to walk to the nearby beach, restaurants and the downtown area. Overall, I’d 100% book here again next time I’m in town."

Sea Breeze Inn
8/10 Good
"Older hotel. Arrived late. Parking lot full so we had to park on the street. Everything worked well in the room. The guy who checked us in was wearing a t shirt and seemed to be filling for someone. Nice enough. No one at the desk when we “checked out.” Everyone left their door cards on the front desk as they left. So if you want an experience that doesn’t feel like a professional hotel experience, this is it."

Castle Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Reasonable price and the room is so clean! Staff are so friendly and helpful, it’s close to the restaurants and the beach!"

Silver Surf Motel
8/10 Good
"Very dirty overall. Found underwear and shorts hanging in the bathroom on the door. It has probably been a couple of months since somebody swept the bathroom floor behind the door and the corners."

Fireside Inn on Moonstone Beach
10/10 Excellent
"This is a lovely seaside motel. It’s clean and comfortable. We loved our ocean view room. We sat on our patio and enjoyed a bottle of local wine."

Cavalier Oceanfront Resort
4/10 Poor
"The two rooms stay. First room Ocean View, the room has a fire place that whoever was there before used , the room had a bad smoke smell, cigarette don’t know. My wife told me that it was hard for here to breathe. So we ask to be moved to another room . No room to move to so around 10 at Night.wife was a hard time breathing had to drive to Paso Robles to get medication. The next day they move us to a room . Not what I pay for but the wife was better. So the room they gave us 109. Outside the door. Was steps to go upstairs it has a raise platform from the pave ground what do I do trip over the platform put my hand out to safety not hit my face. Outcome. Sprained wrist and leg hurt. The"

Sands by The Sea
10/10 Excellent
"Very decent, clean, comfortable, safe place to stay. The good: room was clean, everything was relatively new (except the chair for the desk, which was falling apart). The bathroom was newer, Formica counter, ceramic and fiberglass floor and walls, not granite and marble, like you might find at an urban 3+ star hotel, but completely ok for me. Bed, pillow and blankets were comfortable. Plenty of outlets by the bed, nice little clock with usb power. In room coffee (the teabag-type single serving machine). They have a lawn by the ocean with fire pits and huge chess pieces. Free cookies at check in. The bad: this region seldom needs AC, but my room was 79 when I checked in, and I had to remove the device preventing me from opening the window more than a crack to let the cool air in from outside. Desk chair was totally falling apart. Check in was at the neighboring hotel, not a big deal but slightly inconvenient."
