South Bay, California hotel rooms at the La Quinta Inn & Suites

"Room reeked of smoke to the point where we tried to air it out, no towels at all, the towels we did receive after we walked down to get them were small. One bed didn't have blankets. The phone was non operational. There were homeless looking people all over the property. There were people drinking outside their rooms. Someone there a large drink from the top floor. I don't think the room had been swept in quite a while even less mopped. The toilet seat was broken and loose. The remote control didn't have batteries. It was one of the 2 worst hotels I've stayed in. "

"Mere seconds away from the freeway, but as quiet as a private island. Gaylord hotel and resort is the #1 vacation/staycation destination. There is a convention center as well as a Hertz car rental station that connect the hotel to the parking lot, making this a terrific location for business gatherings or holiday parties. Upon arrival you will drive up into the valet/loading dock. As you walk into the hotel you will enter a breathtaking atrium with top tier modern architecture, high ceilings with chic chandeliers, ponds and fountains, tropical plants, and a bar. The atrium has 3 restaurants and a store/cafe. Going up the elevator to your rooms you will see cute and beautiful ocean artwork decorating the walls; each elevator boasting it's own one of a kind photograph. Walking through the halls to your room the walls are decorated with smooth white rock tiles and pleasant wallpaper. The view of Chula Vista is beautiful, but the view of the waterpark and bay will make your jaw drop in awe. You can catch gorgeous sunsets that will make you never want to leave right from the comfort of your room. The rooms are adequately sized and the bathrooms are servicable, but what makes it special is the high quality materials being used throughout. When you're ready to enjoy the water park (about $12 for a day pass or free for hotel guests), there are 4 pools (including a wave pool), 5 hot tubs, 2 water slides, a lazy river, countless cabanas, and 2 restaurants. Pool does close at 4 pm."

"There was graffiti in various places throughout the property, even in our room. We checked out 5 rooms to accommodate family and one of the rooms had bugs (red roaches), the other room had particles flying around in the room. Do not recommend "
