Small older style mother inn

Small older style motor inn near busy service centre. Had all the basics plus clean sheets and a comfortable bed

For what we needed - a convenient, clean and comfortable overnight stay on our way to Sydney from Melbourne - our family room at Bushmans Retreat Motor Inn ticked all our boxes. Yes the place might be on the older side but it was clear the owners are still looking after it, our room probably one of the cleanest spaces we have stayed in in Australia.

It was a pleasant stay in a spacious room. The parking on site was a great positive. The room also had a microwave and toaster, which were useful. The room was clean and well maintained. The location was excellent, right at the start of the city and close to parks and shopping centres.

Unfortunately I only stayed overnight. Arrived at 5:00pm and departed 10:00am the following day. Room was clean, hot water, milk for tea and coffee and a comfortable bed!

This motel has seen better days but for the price it was good value. Heating and shower worked ok and TV was easy to operate. There was plenty of UHT milk in the fridge, which also worked ok. Beds were comfortable.

The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very clean. Only thing was I am an early bird to bed, there was a lot of noise outside, people coming and going. also, a lot of truck noise outside. I will get some good earplugs then no worries, I will stay there again.

The room was very retro, very blue, very cold improved slowly, very very small. The beds were good with electric blanket on 1. Only 1 facewasher for 5 people. There was not enough crockery or cultery for 5 and no capicity to wash up hygienically. The TV did not work.

We arrived very late at night and left early the following morning. We did organise for the key to be left out for us but this didn't happen. Luckily someone answered the phone so we could get inside. Seem very friendly though. No complaints.

Sadly the room did not live up to the photos advertising this property. The windows were coated in cobwebs and dead flies and the vanity basin was badly chipped. The bedside lights on the wall were hanging and had apparently been disconnected. The young man who attended to us was very polite and helpful.
