"The positives:
Lovely hotel/resort with large pool and beach front location gardens that are extremely well maintained. The best asset this hotel has is the staff who are extremely friendly & for whom nothing is too much trouble.
There's a kid's club & various adult activities that occur every day. The hop on hop off 'Bula bus' ($12/adult/day, although you can buy a multi day ticket as well) runs every few mins between the Sheraton & other resort hotels & Port Denarau in Denerau Is. If you want a local experience, catch the yellow West bus which does the same route for $1.40.
Fiji Airlines has an office in the hotel so if you are flying out of Nadi you can check in your self & your bags at this office. The office is only open for a couple of hours twice a day so be sure to check when it's open if you want to use this service.
The only negative:
The buffet restaurant area is open to the outside & has netting around openings specifically to try & keep out Indian myna birds. These birds are present in plague proportions & are constantly flying around inside, pooping & picking up scraps of food from abandoned tables & even worse from the buffet itself. We were told that in a month or two the restaurant area would be modified & enclosed for 2 reasons, one so that the area could be air conditioned (desperately needed) & two, to keep birds out. In the meantime, buffet food should be under plastic domes so birds can't get to it. Management needs to fix this asap! "
