“Excellent restaurant, quick service by friendly, helpful staff and super food. Two problems that occurred - firstly, it was a warm, muggy day and night and there were no fans available in any of the rooms. Thankfully, I was travelling by car and had a rotary fan in my boot 'just in case' so I was okay, but most of the guests had a dreadful night as there was no air movement even if you could open the windows (they barely opened). The second problem was finding the hotel as my Sat Nav sent me...

It’s an old building bathrooms could a be bit nicer but feeling of the hotel is great. All beautifully maintained outside and excellent spot for walking. Hence 5 stars review”

“Loved the old 17th century beams in the rooms and the uneven floors. Property was very quiet - even with the Football World Cup semi-final on while we were there. Staff were all incredibly helpful and loved the breakfast. 100% recommend and would love to take my dog next time as they are very dog friendly (they get a sausage at breakfast!).”

“It was cozy and neat. They do not have an elevator, so I had to bring my heavy suitcase to the 2nd floor. The food was good, they serve very nice lunch. ”

“I loved being here and plan to go back soon. It's idyllic. Beautifully kept and presented; with very kind and professional staff. I didnt know what time the event I was attending nearby would end; and as soon as I came back they brought me a wonderful platter of fish and much more. Saying theyd rather I had it prepared freshly than keep it waiting. Beside a river, in glorious, quiet countryside with the dramatic fells above; I can't wait to stay longer and explore the area. “The Inn is perfectly located for enjoying Kirkby Stephen. The staff - especially Jacqui - is super helpful and kind. Really enjoyed our brief time there. Our friends who stayed down the street were wishing they had booked here. Be prepared to carry luggage upstairs and know the bed isn’t super big by American standards. ”
