“Front desk staff helpful. No lift so stairs to rooms but staff did carry luggage. Convenient location, lovely dinner in bar. Close to Irwin’s for drinks and music. Not sure why but we were told not to drink tap water and had to carry water from bar. Very close to Cahir castle.”

“The Horse and Jockey was a great place to spend a few nights and have day trips around Ireland. It was really hot when we were there and they brought a fan to our room, that was great. “What truly made our stay special was the incredible kindness and dedication of the staff. They were warm, welcoming, and really made a difference. As for the accommodation, there is absolutely nothing to complain about: the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable for a good rest. It was the ideal pit stop on the road after leaving Dublin, just before heading out to explore the Rock of Cashel. We recommend this place without hesitation!”

“Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Everything worked smoothly, the room was comfortable, and the overall experience was very positive. The only small point to mention is that the rooms can be quite a long walk from the reception and breakfast area. We happened to have one of the furthest rooms, which was a little inconvenient at times, especially with family/luggage. Other than that, everything met our expectations, and we had an enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again.”

“Booked a king room with a balcony which promised “Spectacular views of Gardens/River Suir or Comeragh Mountains”. Our room principally had a view of a tree and the corn field behind it. The room was a compact and the balcony lacked privacy from the adjoining rooms or the car park below. There was an irregular buzzing noise throughout the night so we had little rest. There is little in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so plan on using the hotel facilities or drive into town in the evening.”

“We had a 3 night stay in the Talbot Hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We asked for a fridge for our room to put cold drinks in and when we came back it was there plugged in for us. The staff are truly exceptional. The breakfast was excellent with such a variety on offer. We had dinner too and the roast beef was wonderful. Great location for visiting Clonmel with a bus stop outside and only 10 minutes into town for €1.50 each. We would highly recommend it for a great stay....

“This was our second stay at this lovely Lodge. Small, cosy, but more than enough room inside. Avril and Michael are great hosts and live next door for any questions you might need. It's a lovely rural location in tipperary and you can't beat the peace and quietness of the countryside here. Taxi drivers are available and Avril will provide you with the details if needed. Already looking forward to when we return again!”
