"We loved this hotel: great location only 2 blocks up from Kyoto Station Hachijo East exit, big room for Japan, very clean, staff very nice and helpful and some spoke English, room and hotel very clean, AC worked well and could be controlled from the room, free drink station was great, having a public hot bath is great, and having washer/dryer is great. The were only a few areas that were lacking: 1) There’s only one usb port in each superior twin rooms that I booked. That meant only one person could charge their cell phone/device at a time. Good thing we brought extra adapters so that allowed more than one person to charge their phone or other devices at the same time. 2) There is only one public hot bath (on the women’s side) so it was very crowded much of the time, in the actual hot bath itself, as well as in the changing area, shower area, vanity area, and entrance/exit area. That said, we were very happy that they had a public hot bath at all, so the inconvienence was relatively minor. 3) The washer/dryer worked well for us because we followed instructions carefully, especially Step 0 to clean/rinse out the unit before starting your wash. The problem was there wasn’t enough units for the size of the hotel/number of guests, and because its a combination unit, the duration is 2 hours automatic minimum time required per load. Unless you wash clothes early in morning or very late night (after midnight or before 6:30am), its hard to find an available unit. "

"The hotel had a nice vibe from the second we walked in. Awesome bakery in the lobby with a wide assortment of options. The roof top lounge also had a cool atmosphere. Heaters for cooler weather. Bar and food options. The rooms were clean and spacious compared to other places I have stayed in Japan. The location was perfect. Easy walk to temples, the Gion district, and to the vibrant Pontocho area. 0.8-1.4 mile walks. The hotel is also on a main road so grabbing Uber or taxis was easy. We will definitely stay here again!!"
