"Breakfast had no sausage or eggs very limited and the rooms are outdated and old/dirty. It was not worth what we paid and I don’t see how this place has a good rating they must be fake. "
"Everything was pretty standard for a Comfort Inn. It was clean. It was comfortable. Everything was in good condition. I wasn’t very impressed with the person who checked us in that evening, but I shrugged it off as him being busy and perhaps not having any help. The real problem, and it was very unexpected as I deliberately don’t choose the budget motels, was a domestic situation somewhere above or around us that carried on and on all night. Screaming, slamming things, a little one crying in fear. I called the front desk to alert the person on duty and they acted incredibly annoyed. Then, the n top of the fighting, we could hear banging on doors and demands to open the door, etc. This may have been the police at some point"
Postcard Cabins Starved Rock, Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy
4/10 Poor
"I was really looking forward to my stay at Postcard Cabins, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I arrived.
I found two spiders in the bed and multiple ants on the counter space, which made it extremely uncomfortable to settle in or relax. What made things more frustrating was the lack of accommodation for these issues. Despite bringing the concerns forward, there was no meaningful effort to resolve the situation or make the stay more comfortable. When I raised these concerns, I was told that encountering occasional bugs is part of their policy. Based on that, my refund was denied, and there was no willingness to offer a reasonable accommodation or alternative solution. At that point, it became clear that my concerns were not being taken seriously, which made the experience even more frustrating."
"Overall we had a very nice experience. However, the lighting in our room was too dark. Definitely needed better lamps with brighter bulbs. Missing shampoo and soap for the shower. The waterpark was nice but seemed very dark. The bottom of all the pools was brown instead of a nice blue that you would expect so it made the water look dirty. It wasn’t dirty but it looked that way. Food was very expensive in Jack’s restaurant but reasonable in the cafe but it had a limited menu. Snack bar in the waterpark was open but nothing was working so you couldn’t purchase anything."
"I have stayed at Best Western Oglesby several times and have always been completely satisfied with the experience. The rooms and commons areas are clean, quiet and safe. The breakfast is always good and plentiful. And the staff are competent and pleasant. Highly recommend."
"Room was not clean. Dried urine on toilet I ended up cleaning myself. Mold in tub. Not sure if sheets were even fresh as they were severely wrinkled and did not smell clean. Was super disappointed by the complimentary breakfast. Bread goods were hard as a rock both days. (Same food was out both mornings) Only four yogurts in the fridge. Three cereal options and all were stale. Juice was colored water and tasted strange at that. Only truly edible thing available in our two day stay was the waffles.
The pool was so uncleaned that we didn’t even try to use.
I booked this stay looking for a relaxing weekend getaway with my husband for his birthday but was extremely disappointed as all the amenities advertised were dirty, moldy, and outdated. It may be worth the price for a quick overnight stay but the cleanliness issues make me think you’d pay for it.
Extremely disappointed in the advertising and customer service. Will not be back."
"The room and beds were clean and comfortable. The property needs some updating. In-room microwave and refrigerator were old and not in good shape. There was mold on the fridge door gasket and it didn't close well. The microwave door is a different color than the rest of the unit (clearly not a design choice). There were two serious leaks from the ceiling in the pool area. Breakfast was standard. There was a waffle maker and that was the only hot choice. Two dry cereal options, bagels and some yogurt. It worked fine for us. All in all, I would stay there again since the rooms were clean and beds were comfortable."
"It was absolutely amazing the only downside which is not any of the staffs fault is that the fire alarm went off at about 3:30am but other than that it was a terrific stay and I will be back!"
