"Great location - very handy to the Tower Hill tube station and walking along the Thames. Great sized room with excellent storage and lovely bathroom. I would definitely request a room facing the Tower of London because the other side of the hotel view isn't great. Unfortunately room wasn't as photographed. Lacked soft furnishings, a rug (was hard flooring), cushions, sofa etc - basically nothing as pictured. When I mentioned this to the manager he said it was the Expedia photos but I then checked the hotel's website, and the same photos were loaded as Expedia. Bed was extremely hard - very uncomfortable and colleagues of ours staying mentioned the same. "Like sleeping on plywood" their words not mine. Hotel said they would put a mattress topper on the bed, but was in the end just a duvet underneath. Very easy things to fix Tower Suites!! Otherwise it would have been great. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good."

"Average. I was placed in a room for less abled travellers and it was overly wide and ‘cold’ in style and function. Litter was left for hours outside the room and this wasn’t special. Paid for lounge access and it was pretty dire offering for the money. "

"This was truly the best place I stayed in a while. From the moment you ent r you feel seen and respected. Rooms nice with every thing you could possibly need from umbrellas to plug adapters. Hue greeted us every day with a smile. Offered to take our pictures. Came home every afternoon to a freshly cleaned apartment. As much coffee and water as you like. Just a wonderful experience. "

"Although a great location and good value for money I was bitterly disappointed at the ibis London City hotel. The reception staff on the night shifts were extremely unprofessional, chaotic and quite rude. Hema particularly was exceptionally rude. The staff gave my colleague a key to my room which was totally unacceptable for any hotel to do and my colleague walked into my room late at night. Fortunately it was a colleague of mine and not a random person but extremely poor. The night security manager was also extremely unprofessional and made you feel uncomfortable coming into the hotel any time they were working in reception. Extremely poor level of service! "

"This is a property that has a lot going for it. Great location, good amenities, and clean space. However, it suffers from two big flaws. First, the staff will not vary from their rules to accomodate. When we arrived they had rooms available but refused to release the room until 2:30 or so. The walls are very thin and sound travels. Otherwise nice place."
