Old hotel, basic room but great location beachside. Wish the room had more storage or hooks since no closet. Loved the access and chairs to lounge outdoors and see the ocean. Bar and outdoor shower convenient. The parking, breakfast and pool at the nearby property were great and easy to access. Would stay again.

Very nice boutique hotel right on the beach. Quiet location located next to Tamarindo Diria. We had a drink there after dinner. Clean, very helpful staff at Perla. The pool use and breakfast at their sister resort is part of the booking. It was beautiful and the breakfast was excellent. Parking is also at the sister resort. Highly recommend Perla!

The first room we had the tv didn’t work and the bed broke while I was in it. There were no windows to see outside, it felt like we were in a basement. If you go-avoid room #3. They moved us upstairs to a much better room but the stairs to get there were poorly made and you could easily get hurt if you weren’t careful. Like, REALLY careful. They don’t provide a microwave or a little coffee machine but they do have a fridge. Pamela and Jaqueline were extremely accommodating. The grounds are really nice. This hotel is owned by the fancy resort next door (Tamarindo Diría) and the even fancier one across the street but we loved the simplicity of our hotel. The breakfast buffet is included and it’s superb. It’s located at the bigger resort across the street. You are allowed to use the pool since our hotel didn’t have one. One of the employees said our hotel was like “the little brother” of the big fancy ones.The hotel is not fancy. There’s no lobby, just a little check in desk. The best part was the tiki bar. The bartender Kevin speaks perfect English and is super friendly. This hotel is very small and located on the Main Street of Tamarindo. It can be noisy with all the street noise. Air conditioners work great. It’s close to everything and you can walk everywhere. The biggest negatives were our first room and those stairs. In America, they would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Loved the location and easy access to beach. Rooms are dated for the price. Walls and windows very thin that on weekends all people riding bikes with loud noise you could hear till late night. It got quiet at 3 am. But lived the beach side. The ocean view, and laying on beach chairs in the back.

Best location in all of Tamarindo! Just step outside your room and you’re on the beach. Or simply lay in a lounger on the grass under the palm trees and watch the people and horses pass by. The rooms are very basic. Ours had no view, widows placed so high, they only let in light. Use of the resort pool across the street, which was wonderful, is included…no hot tub tho. And the free breakfast buffet at that resort was an added bonus.

Tamarindo on the Beach - Hotel Perla

I Love this hotel. I have lived in Costa Rica 10 years in the Central Valley close to SJO airport for my work. My wife and I enjoy the beaches of Guanacaste so when I have a block of days off we will make the run to Tamarindo. She found Hotel Perla on the beach so we wanted try it out. It is now our go to place! Why: 1. Directly on the beach. Our room is separated by 75' of grass and lounge chairs then the sand. The ocean varies because of the tide. At high tide there is typically 20-30 surfers enjoying the waves. We swam every day. 2. Customer service checking in and hotel questions is excellent. 3. Free breakfast is a 2-minute walk to Hotel Diria. Excellent buffet. 4. Access to two pools. One at Diria on the beach and my favorite across the street (Diria Condos) with water features and an awesome swim up bar. 5. Easy safe and secure free self parking if you have a car. 6. Easy walking distance to 25+ restaurants and bars, boutique shops and a little market directly next door for things you might need for the room. Hotel Perla was recently remodeled. We prefer more of a local type hotel vs the fancier Diria next door for about double the price. (Same owner) Pura vida!

Estadia otima, com vista para o mar. Hotel pé na areia. Cadeiras para apreciar o mar o dia inteiro, com todo conforto. Banheiro e chuveiro excelentes. Boa limpeza. Muito agradável! Estacionamento em local fechado, descoberto, proximo da pousada. Não é dentro da pousada. Cafe da manhã e uso de duas piscinas do Resort Tamarindo Diria! Café excelenteeee!!! Pôr do sol inesquecivel!

I would have loved to have given this place a 5-star rating, but we had some issues during our stay. Unfortunately a family of coati/raccoons found shelter above our room and made noise all night. They caught some of them, but they came back every night of our stay. And the internet was down our entire stay, they only reconnected it 10 minutes before we left. Otherwise the property location can't be beat. And access and breakfast at the Diria resort next door is a definite bonus.

Really nice place, quiet with private access directly to the beach. You also have access to the pools of the hotel next door. The breakfast was really good and tables were avalable with a nice view on the beach.

Staff was extremely courteous and welcoming. The only issue we had with the room was the pillows were a little bit uncomfortable, and there was nowhere to hang your clothing No Closet. The fact that you get access to the amenities at the Tamarindo Diriá resort made all the difference. The breakfast were magnificent. All is beautiful. Lots to do around the beach.
