โStayed at the Coat & Bear while visiting Highclere Castle. I had a room with 2 beds and it was very spacious. The staff was very nice and the food at the pub was delicious. The town of Newbury is very nice and walkable and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min walk to the Newbury train station. I would definitely stay here again. โ

โA really nice overnight stay and dinner at The Swan / Bel and Dragon. The building is delightful - full of beams and historical atmosphere but very well maintained. The bar was certainly very well patronised and appears popular with locals while most of the 9 rooms appeared to be occupied, based on the numbers at breakfast. โBartonโs Mill was a fantastic find. Very friendly staff. Fabulous breakfast. We liked the fact the rooms were separate from the pub and easily accessible. Situated in a beautiful area. Easy access to M3. Would definitely recommend. โ
โIt is an old hotel (antique in fact giving itโs been operating for 800 years), so no wall are straight, floors are uneven, hallways are narrow, and there is no elevator. But the conditions are ell kept, and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay there againโ
โLarge, very clean room. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with great shower. Nice toilet products to use. Plentiful, tea, coffee and biscuits provided as well as a small fridge with bottled water.
Attractive restaurant with a good range of menu options. Ate there 2 nights and the food was very good. Some excellent desserts too!

โBooked overnight stay as sailing from Southampton the next day. Lovely place, well equipped, clean and great situation. We got the train to Romsey and walked from the station, a nice flat walk, took about 20 minutes with our luggage. Breakfast was delicious, a great start to the day.
Graeme the owner was extremely accommodating and helpful, arranged transport into Southampton on the Saturday morning. Found a spare travel plug for us when we realised we had forgotten ours.
