Field by the Templar Way A tree by the gate from this was taken casts its shadow across this field. The unnamed wood on the right, which straddles a northing gridline, contains the source of a small stream which feeds into a leat in Bovey Tracey. The buildings, at Five Wyches Farm, are in SX8078, and the distant hill is at Shaptor.

In the middle distance are floodmeadows on the west bank of the Teign, crossed by the racetrack which is the old Exeter Road. In the centre of the photo, hidden by trees, is Teign Bridge. Left of centre is a mound of clay waste being formed on the east side of Denistone Quarry SX8574, with a wooded mound of old waste appearing to its left SX8573. Clay waste stretches away to the north. Right of centre the Broadway clay pit is being filled, with a big shaped mound to its right. Beyond it at some distance is Higher Sandygate SX8674, mostly. Between the mounds in the centre of the photo is the narrow wooded cleft which marks the course of the Abb Brook or Abbrook which, in its upper reaches, is the Ugbrooke Stream SX8676.
