"The hotel is visibly old and could do with a refurbishment. The room was spacious but primitive. The restaurant is recently overtaken by two younger chefs and is excellent. The hotel and restaurant are seperate businesses. The hotel staff was kind but forgetful. My partner is intolerant to Gluten but despite having called in advance and been reassured that glutenfree bread was available, it was still forgotten twice at breakfast and long waiting as consequence. "Firstly, location is excellent- 2 minutes to ferry crossing. It serves the purpose. Stayed the night prior to catching a ferry. Rooms are big, but facilities are very dated and it is not particularly clean. Beds however were very comfortable and if not the horrible small or manure it would have been a good nights sleep. Not for light sleeper either- pretty noisy through the night. Food was fine- nothing blew our minds, basic. Breakfast was good- just enough choice and served early too"
