Our stay at Hotel East 21 was quite pleasant . Staff was very polite , efficient. The person who checked us in and also was present during breakfast for several days during our 2 weeks was excellent and offered us complimentary Japanese breakfast on 21 st floor . The cleaning ladies were extremely friendly and efficient. After completion each day, they came around to ask my wife if everything was okay or do we need anything else ,always ready to help and oblige without requests. We would say , the only negative comment would be that most days when we went for breakfast ,for our request to be seated at a table, usher would say it is already reserved for someone else , ( which was quiet incorrect ) as my my wife ascertained that it was unusually not so . It was also repeated at the Chinese restaurant at the hotel and we were certainly not happy with this . My wife also took up with the staff / management about this issue , but to no avail . Rest was perfect

The room is very spacious. However, the furniture is outdated. The sofa bed felt uncomfortable while sitting. It seemed worn out. The mattresses were hard. It also seemed worn out. No internet connection, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However, it seemed that customer satisfaction is not they primarily concerned. My husband returned a “paella “ dinner because it didn’t taste good. The hostess didn’t accommodate this situation. We left it alone and didn’t make a big deal out of it.

This was a wonderful experience and an excellent place to stay. Koto-Ku was beautiful and had many stores and eateries within walking distance. The location was perfect for allowing one to see, hear, and feel how the locals and native people live on a daily basis. The staff at the hotel were super helpful in helping me navigate the city as a foreigner and tourist. I actually stayed at the hotel twice and each of the rooms offered stunning view of the decadent Tokyo skyline. I highly recommend this location if you are planning to visit the land of the rising sun.

Beautiful but older property that is keeping up with high standards of cleanliness and decent maintenance, but the age does show a bit. But the larger than usual size of the hotel rooms makes up for it, as does the handy shopping area and excellent little enclave of restaurants in the area. It is a little bit of a walk to the nearest subway station so it's not quite as convenient for getting around Tokyo/sightseeing as other places. But the free shuttle to Disneyland/DisneySea is EXCELLENT and makes this place more than worth it to me. It also is a direct stop on a direct bus shuttle to/from Narita Airport (which allows you to bring two pieces of checked bags for free on it) that only costs 3,100 yen one way, and that convenience also makes this place invaluable to me as a first/last hotel to stay in for a Tokyo and Tokyo Disney Resort visit.
