This is a special place on earth, and Maria is a wonderful hostess and owner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She prepares farm-to-table fare that is delicious. However, we were visiting in March, and at that time of the year the options for a vegetarian is rather limited. Other than that, which is certainly understandable, this was a great place to relax, unwind, snowshoe, and ski (rentals in Tromso).

Norwegian Country

Yggdrasil Farmhotel is about 50min drive from the Tromso airport, it overlooks a fjord and is not hard to find. I rented the tiny house for myself, I had some activities planned but was looking for a quiet time out I could do some thinking and planning for 2024. The place is warm and cosy, the breakfast is excellent. The tiny house lacked some utensils for cooking and I was not able to have Wifi within which made me sit in the public areas to complete some work. I loved the woodfired Sauna. The weather was a challenge while I was there so I spend more time inside then I anticipated. It was a pleasant stay if you want to be away from the busy little city of Tromso.

This is a simply amazing place. So traquil and calm, so quiet you can actually hear silence! The owners and staff are so friendly and go out of thier way to help you. the food on site is amazing, home cooked local delicacies. We ate moose, reindeer, salmon whale, lamb ( there are other options too) all booked and cooked directly for you. They were delishoius and served in a restaurant ( and upstairs bar) that have floo to celing windows looking across the fyord. Who needs pictures and TV wehn you have such a vista that changes every 30 seconds We took part in the night mountain treck in show shoes, ice swimming and jaquizi. We saw the northern lights on more than one occassion Despite fantastic transfer options offred by the hotel ( they are much cheaper than other operators) when we go back again we will hire a car to explore a little wider but this was only a minor point on such a fantastic trip I want to thank Maria and her team for making Paulines 60th Birthday trip so special. De ontvangst was hartelijk met veel uitleg. Kregen nog de kans om een stuk taart te eten ondanks de zeer late checkin. Het is ook het chiqueste ontbijt ever.

Très agréable séjour

Très agréable séjour avec un bon petit déjeuner. Chambre manquant de rangement et sans table/bureau pour pouvoir utiliser son ordinateur, sans écran TV. Dommage également de ne pas avoir une machine à boisson en self service au petit déjeuner.

Highly recommend, great place to recharge!

Lovely retreat and a great place to relax. Outdoor jacuzzi in the snow was thrilling, after a relaxing sauna. Amazing place to see Northern Lights!

Our stay at Yggdrasil was amazing! It's truly a unique place. The dinners are out of this world, chef quality local cuisine served in a spectacular setting. If you are looking for a relaxing get away you will have a hard time topping this place! My only watchout for first timers to Tromso is that it is a pretty good distance from the city centre and airport. 45 minute drive. The owners did a great job with our transportation needs, but you do need to plan ahead and schedule with them. We didn't use a taxi, but I would assume that if you can find one willing to come pick you up it will be a very expensive ride. That said, this is as charming of a place as you will find anywhere in the world and the scenery is breathtaking. The owners are meticulous when it comes to taking care of things. We will definitely be back!!!!

Perfect place to start hiking and appreciate quiet and wonderful landscapes. Accommodations are very modern, and the view from the restaurant is impressive. You need to pay extra for the Sauna, but it is a unique experience. Wood fire in the sauna next to the (cold) sea.

Ce lieux je penses, s'adresse à une clientèle bobo/hipster c'est relativement cher pour le service proposé et très propre pour une ferme c'est plus un concept a la mode qu'autre chose à mon avis Se dit être une ferme mais il y à peu d'animaux, a part les oeufs je ne pense pas qu'ils proposent leurs produits Le lit pour deux doit faire 100cm de large difficile quand mon bouge la nuit. Pas de commodités dans la chambre donc impossible de se prendre un petit café ou un thé dans la chambre. Le petit déjeuner est très simple servi dans des petites coupelles, une coupelle avec 1/4 d'oeuf Une autre avec trois bouts de harengs une autre avec de la sardine ... Le tout très bien présenté mais soit ils veulent qu'on ne se servent pas de trop où bien ils se donnent un air de service gastronomique. Le repas du soir était vraiment très bon mais très cher 2 bières un plat d'agneau un de saumon et deux carrot cake =150€ C'était sympa mais je ne le recommanderais pas Le personnel était très sympa mais a ce prix c'est un minimum.

The staff were absolutely lovely and very friendly, which made our stay more enjoyable. The views were beautiful, and we really loved the yoga sessions, which were a highlight. The breakfast was delicious too. However, the room did not match the advertisement. The images used in the listing were misleading, showing a completely different cabin and portraying a more remote and isolated setting. In reality, the cabin overlooked others and lacked privacy due to thin/lack of curtains. The "queen-size bed" was actually two single mattresses on the floor. There was no WiFi, insufficient hot water for two showers, and the heating couldn't surpass 20°C, which was uncomfortable on cold nights. The kitchenette had no frying pans despite having a stove. Additionally, daily housekeeping, a pillow menu, and a pillow-top bed as advertised were not provided. While we did really enjoy our overall stay, the discrepancies between the advertised amenities and the actual room were disappointing.
