manager Phyl very accommodating, top notch bang for the buck bed and breakfast. close to scott street convenient for Patulla bridge crossing. parking a little congested and one shared washroom can get a little busy. overall s very enjoyable stay for 4 days anything u want for breakfast , not the usual coffee, toast, baked goods and jam
It was crap the guy that runs the place is not friendly at all there are stains on blankets and holes and stains on towels mice around ceiling fan was piled with dust pillows were yellow and when you comment he calls you names I would never stay there again so please take advice and stay away. He has monthly rentals that are all men that share the house it is very strange
We arrived at this "b&b" a little early, called the phone number on the front door to check in with the "manager phillip". Called 3 times, no answer. So we waited until after the posted check-in time, knocked on the door. The "manager" answered the door, and informed us that the room we booked isn't available anymore, as the person who booked it the night before "just told him that he was going to spend another night". He then offered to show us other rooms that were available, for a higher rate. The "rooms" were literally just sections of his house with sheets hung up. Not private, not clean, super uncomfortable. He then offered to move the guy (who was in our room) to another room, and that we could be in there in 5 minutes. That is not enough time to change the bedding or clean up AT ALL. We told him we want our money back and we will be going elsewhere. He agreed to a refund after some hesitation. BEWARE of this "b&b"! I would not recommend to anyone. Very unprofessional and awkward. The pictures are extremely deceiving. I will be watching my credit card balance to make sure I actually don't get charged for the room.
What a wonderful experience! Service was above and beyond my expectations! Nothing better than having some great home cooking after a long day of travelling. The rooms were nice and clean, with ample room for all my luggage, and the bed was incredibly comfortable (never slept more soundly outside of my own bed). Love the host Phillip! He was extremely helpful and hospitable, directing me to all the best sites and hang-out spots in town. This B&B will now be my home away from home!

Charming B&B
It was a very cosy B&B located in a suburb neighbourhood. There is only a few rooms, but the atmosphere is nice and the host gives advice on how to view the city. The location is a bit far from the center of Vancouver, but besides this I can only recommend it.

Very affordable place to sleep.
Phillip what a guy. He does it all with care and attention. I enjoyed my stay and will return next week.
It's primarily a place to sleep but I chose to sit on the deck for a couple of beverages while socializing for a few other guests.
My room also had a large tv with netflicks.
Comfortable stay. Opportunities to meet travellers from all over the world- much like a hostel with free breakfast and inexpensive dinner in that regard. Had private room with en suite with jacuzzi. Owner presents as someone with experience in customer service.
Owner was not there to let us in. We waited for hours. Called and left a note. Spoke with hotels.com who kept us on the phone for 4 hours as we waited outside with no place to stay. We were late to a wedding because they couldn't get us into another room. We had to go get ready at a public restroom after being on the phone with theme for 4 hours, explaining the situation to 9 different people getting transferred and then getting hung up on at the end. Worst Experience ever! And the place looked disgusting from the outside. In all fairness we never saw the inside and the owners voicemail box was full so we couldn't even leave a voice mail.
We made a last-minute decision to visit Vancouver and everything in the area was booked, except A1 B&B. It turned out to be a derelict ranch house. The owner insisted we pay up front in cash. And though our room had beds, the adjacent rooms were bereft of furniture but still occupied, by men sleeping on the floor. Oh, and there was a kid who spoke no English living in a tent in the backyard.
Anyway, the place passed my bed bug inspection and we had no other options, so we stayed. On the first morning, we woke up to the sounds of screaming - the owner accusing one of the guys sleeping on the floor of stealing his iPad. He then informed us that, if we wanted breakfast, we'd have to follow him to another house. Totally weirded out, we declined and left for the day, carrying all of our valuables with us.
The second night was uneventful, until around 3:30 in the morning, when we woke up to police storming into our bedroom with guns drawn. They were responding to a report of assault. Several of the employees of the B&B, we learned, had outstanding warrants, and hid from the police in the backyard. We were interviewed by cops for 2 hours.
This guy is apparently moving his operation from the Bryan Place location to 9219 122nd St, Surrey. Please be aware that this is a flophouse, not a B&B. If you're looking for a place to do drugs and hang out with violent criminals, then look no further.

When I say its not for everyone, its not for everyone, and that's not a bad thing. 1.) It's a house turned into a hotel so don't expect a typical hotel experience. 2.)It'll feel like you're staying at your relative's home. 3.)The price you're charged is UNBEATABLY cheap! 4.)Free breakfast & if the man in charge likes you its free dinners & Free food! 5.)The man in charge is a great guy who's very kind and really takes care of you. He goes out of his way to make you happy. In sum, it is not just another hotel, you'll feel like you're sleeping at your family's place, and it was wonderful while it lasted for me and my friends.
So for the little we paid to stay here each night it was fine but don't expect anything like the pictures. It's more like staying a great aunts house who lives in red deer than a hotel or even motel experience. some of the guests can be interesting to, and not in the best way
