Great hostel option. You're staying in the UBC dorms with access to laundry, a kitchen with microwave, fridge, and hot water kettle. Location is extremely convenient. I also found it quiet and clean.
This property was perfect for the purpose of my visit; the location is convenient, the campus property is stunning, and all the amenities I needed were close by, e.g., transit, coffee shops. Thanks! Will recommend.
I personally like its proximity to the beach, and it being at UBC meant more secluded and quieter space, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Amenities were really nice, though they ran out of hand soap in 2 of their sinks in the washroom. Common dining hall is quite small.
I needed affordable, long term, on campus to be close to classes, and it was so enjoyable. The property checked off all my needs, and because of that I did not leave the property on weekends for hotels because it was the quiet serenity where I was. 10/10.
Simple accommodations on beautiful university campus with access to beach. Beautiful Japanese garden next door and close to excellent Museum of Anthropology.
It’s a great place for a private room with a shared bathroom in a great university environment with easy transit links to downtown or the city as a whole.
Great stay at the university student residence halls while the university is closed for the summer. The room had everything you would need. A comfy bed, good towels and a decent amount of space too. The showers are shared but split into women / men only by floors. Good hot water and water pressure. Kitchen was useful if you needed to heat something or make tea/coffee etc.
The campus is stunning and close to Wreck Beach which is worth a trip for sunset. Incredibly good value for money. Would stay again if came at the same time of year.

Smell really bad
The service and location are good. The room is not bad - unless the smell. Feels like the room was moldy, the smell was so strong, uncomfortable to stay inside and sleep.
My stay was over the summer so it was quite peaceful and quiet. The rooms and buildings were kept lovely and clean. Dispite the age of the buildings the washrooms were updated and kept especially clean. The grounds were also well kept. I did miss not having outdoor furniture to relax outside but I do understand why there isn't. My only disappointment was not getting clean towels and facecloth for 4 day visit.

Great location and affordable
The location of the hotel is very good. It is in the UBC campus with a nice beach in walking distance. I went there to watch the sunset. The bed is twin size. The price is very affordable. Great for single travellers.
The property is not technically a hostel in my opinion. It is a university dorm (UBC). The main difference that I felt with a hostel was that this was individual single bed rooms with share washrooms/kitchens. I didn't see much of travellers vibe hanging together, altbough there was places for it either in the main lobby or in individual buildings.
However, having said this, the property was reasonably priced in the over-priced city of Vancouver. So, if you are on a budget and don't mind an hour commute to get to downtown, this is a nice place to try.
Very close to the beach, and also within 15 minutes walk to several eateries.
I would highly recommend this property for one’s stay in Vancouver. It has everything that you need in order to travel in a relaxed manner, they have washers and dryers which allows you to pack less clothing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and truly ready to assist you when you need. The one downside that I would say about the property is the location seeing as how it is a bit far from downtown Vancouver you can easily get a bus pass from the shoppers on campus.
Very decent and comfortable accommodation on a beautiful campus. The hostel staff were very approachable and eager to help. To follow up on another reviewers critique of the rather firm mattress, I that could be remedied with an extra blanket mattress buffer. The ambient hallway noise (doors closing) was normal for a dorm environment, it was usually quiet by 10pm. I’m someone who fairly sensitive to noise and it didn’t bother me.
