A lovely place to stay - a well appointed apartment in delightful grounds. Quiet and peaceful but easy to get into town for dinner. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. A very pleasant breakfast was served outside in the garden. Highly recommend.

Fantastic stay in every way

Warm friendly welcome on arrival. Great communication in the run up to our visit. François was the perfect host full of ideas and information on where to visit and weather updates. Stayed in the penthouse apartment. Beautifully furnished immaculately clean amazingly comfortable. Lovely outdoor private patio and garden area. Fantastic grounds. Would highly recommend Le Grand Saint-Marc. Thank ypu again François

What a special spot! We loved everything about our stay and only wish that we could have stayed longer! Our host was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. She shared great insight and history about the property and about the surrounding area. We got great suggestions about highlights for our visit. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a unique decor. Breakfast was perfect with options for sitting inside or outside. We would love to go back and would recommend a stay to anyone visiting the Loire Valley areas.

Vendome, France

Everything about the place was spot on! The Manager and his wife was delightfully helpful in everything from there local information to the history of the property. Could not do enough for me down to preparing a very early breakfast before leaving for a long drive to Paris Orly Airport. I would visit Le Grand Saint-Mac in Vendôme again.

Disappointing / décevant!

We were so looking forward to our 1 night stay judging from previous 5 star comments...the grounds are certainly pretty although there is a busy main road that runs behind the garden wall which dampens the country charm. The rooms and linens were spotless, but the bathroom left to be desired notably the wash basin...ughh black mold scum stuck hard to the corners (see photo) that was impossible to remove (this was not new as there was a mold remover spray in the cupboard)...simply time to change basin. Continetal breakfast was fine but served at coffee table level (a bit low). Monsieur Francois the owner seemed somewhat aloof.

Que dire.. parfait

Excellent. La maisonnette est située dans le parc. Le logement est dans la ville. Tranquilité assurée. Tout confort Petit déjeuner au top. Une demi bouteille de vin offerte en partant. Bref, je recommande pour un séjour professionnel ou de loisir.

Het is een heel oud domein met een prachtig park. We werden gastvrij ontvangen met een lekker glaasje wijn , mijn partner een fris biertje en een lekker stukje kaas. Francois denkt aan alles, zelfs aan de sterkte van je koffie s'morgens. Een heerlijk ontbijt buiten en de kamer was ook heel gezellig en proper. Er is zelfs een make-up remover voor de dames, om maar aan te tonen dat dit een top gastverblijf is.

Op het landgoed van de oude abdij zijn de overnachtingsplekken geheel gemoderniseerd. Het landhuis van de eigenaar volgt. Het is een heerlijke rustige plek om te vertoeven als je een dagje in Vendôme of omstreken bent geweest.
