"We had a bit of a rocky start during our stay. First we had to wait for our room to be ready. To my surprise, the superior double room that I booked was much smaller than both the photo and description on the hotels.com website. When I went to questioned the front desk about it, I was told I had the correct unit booked! There were larger rooms on the website for less $!! Later we found out the a/c unit wasn't cooling off, front desk was called and informed the problem was with the third floor...

"Stayed initially for three night but enjoyed it so much we had two more nights there. The apartments are well appointed and quite private. The rooms were spacious and well fitted with a jacuzzi in the bedroom. Quiet in grounds of large house on outskirts of Vila de Punhe about 4miles from Viana do Castelo. Easy access to the town. The staff were very nice and the owner was very helpful. The views were lovely over the area and vineyards. Everything worked well and had no problems."

"We enjoyed our stay here it was very different which gave it a lot of charm. Located opposite a large supermarket which was a positive as it had basic cooking facilities. Breakfast was very good. The grounds were beautiful and the walk into the centre of town was probably about 2 kms but an easy and picturesque walk. Just a few cons - no signs for reception so we ended up knocking on the door of the private residence, we booked a double bed but had twin beds, it was very hot in the room and even...
