Things were missing

Just finished staying at Alpine View. Location was great as it is out of town by 5 min. Quite and a nice place to unwind after a long day. Was looking forward to the hot tub but found out there is none. Pictures used in write up are from the previous owner. Breakfast was nothing to write home about.

Peaceful retreat

What an amazing place. Craig and Michelle were brilliant hosts. Nothing was a problem and the property was spotless. Wonderful fire great cooking facilities and a comfortable sleep. Will definitely stay again.

Craig and Michelle are so lovely and kind and we felt very welcomed into the beautiful cottage. We enjoyed the delicious homemade banana choc muffins that greeted us on arrival 😊 The views of snow-capped mountains greeted us each day and we really loved our stay there. Can’t wait to return as soon as possible!

Loved it.

We stayed two nights here and wished we had booked for longer. The hosts are a very friendly couple who have gone to great lengths to make their guests feel at home. Our lodge was lovely, spacious, clean, comfortable with access to a beautiful garden. A wonderful breakfast is included sat in Michelle’s kitchen having a chat. The area around Lake Wanaka is a wonderful place to visit.

Friendly Stay, Beautiful location

Wonderful relaxing stay at Alpine View Lodge. breakfast was excellent. Our host Michele made us feel right at home.

Excellent facilities, wonderful hosts

I highly recommend this wonderful accommodation. Friendly and relaxed hosts. Excellent accommodation with every need catered to. Well presented with extra touches and comfort. I didn’t have a chance to experience the breakfasts but I’m quite sure they would have been marvellous. Take a pair of togs for the spa pool ! Enjoy the beautiful gardens. I will most definitely be staying there again !

Lovely stay

Craig and Michelle are such friendly hosts. Breakfast each morning was delicious. A wonderful stay overall. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent hotel and a short drive from Lake Wanaka

This was a splendid place to stay. Our Host Michele was awesome, as was Loraine who made us breakfast. The room was spacious and very clean. They even had a covered area for us to park our car. The gardens of the house were also lovely and one of our best evenings there was spent at the table outside our room enjoying dinner and some wine. When we get back to this area, we will definitely be staying here again.

Home away from home.

Our hosts - Craig & Michele - were welcoming, helpful and organized. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and sensibly appointed. The two bedroom cottage was a perfect size for our family of 3 for our annual Cardrona snow holiday. It is quiet and well-located with comfortable bedding and a well-resourced kitchen for home catering. They also have a good DVD selection for those fresh nights in. The chickens, sheep, and horses at the back of the property provided some extra entertainment.

Lovely B&B with welcoming hosts.

On arrival there was on one in the office. It was about 1.30pm and we realized that we were early. We returned about 2pm and Michelle drove in a few minutes later. Michelle was lovely and she just mentioned that check in was 3pm. I told her that no check in time was mentioned on my paperwork. It was not a problem for Michelle and she even gave us an upgrade to a lovely suite. The suite consisted of a huge bedroom with full length glass doors and views to the mountains. The doors also opened onto a beautiful garden area. The room had a table and two chairs, a two seat lounge, TV, DVD player, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. There was a very large bathroom. This suite had undercover parking right at the door. Michelle recommended and made a booking for dinner for us at a very good Italian Restaurant in town. We met Craig at breakfast the next morning. They were both preparing breakfast when there was a power blackout. Craig just started up his backup generator and power was restored. The breakfast was fantastic with choices of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt etc. Michelle cooked a hot breakfast of your choice. Toast, fresh tea and coffee were brought to the table. We highly recommend the Alpine View Lodge.

The ONLY place to stay in Wanaka

Craig and Michelle were wonderful hosts and made us very welcome. Gave great recommendations for local food spots and walks. A wonderful room with comfy beds, after a great hot breakfast we even got to feed the sheep!! Our 9yo loved it. I loved the beautiful gardens. Can't wait to go back and see it in another season.

Love this place!!!!!!!

Such a great experience! The hosts were so sweet and kind, gave us some great hiking tips and because of their information we ended up doing one of the highlights of our trip! The property is great, really beautiful with awesome views of the mountainside and very private rooms.

Rural, yet handy to everything, and great hosts

As a base for exploring the region, we couldn't have done better. The location is perfect and the scenery is wonderful. Hosts, Michele and Craig, make guests feel very welcome, do a great breakfast and are a mine of local insight. The room was cosy, despite a cold snap, and very nicely furnished. Even the shower (my usual gripe in hotels and B&Bs) had great pressure and warmth.

Breakfast was on the light size and appeared to be a bit mean. This reflected poorly considering the good quality of the accomodations.

Beautiful quiet location with stunning views. Lovely gardens with tables and chairs and views across to mountains. Five minute drive to town and lakeside for walking and restaurants. Very enjoyable cooked breakfast sitting around the table chatting to other travellers about their New Zealand trip. Highly recommended. We wish we could have stayed longer....

The best accommodation in wanaka

We have stayed with 2 children. This lodge was excellent I will recommend to anyone. Feel like a home and comfy bed. We could see amazing mountain from the lodge. Super Clean bathroom and kitchen. Kids enjoyed pet sheeps and friendly cat called coco. We will visit again.
